Boys name: Fox

InTheHouseBored · 09/05/2020 23:50

Found out I'm having another boy this week (my second). We really struggled tryna find a boys names even before we found out he was a boy.

I love Fox but can't bring myself to actually name my son that. Plus his last name will begin with F as well so really won't work, or will it? To me the alliteration makes him sound like a marvel superhero. Which I don't want.

Other options are:
Finley
Jaxxon
Creed
Emilio
River
Cullen
Rory
Louie
Sonny
Nico

We can't agree on any or find one that we like enough.

Any suggestions/opinions please??
TIA

Rory's fab. Rory Fox is brilliant!

meow1989 · 14/05/2020 10:53

I liked Fox (also have an F surname) but I also liked Wolf and Bear so I'm not sure you should take my advice! DH firmly vetoed and ds has an uncommon but definately a name, name that I love

Blondie1980s · 14/05/2020 09:21

I like the names Fin and Jax ( yes I've shortened it cause I tend to do that a lot. )

I also really like the name Coen , couldn't use myself as it's already in the family.

However I think if you have a name you really love already then go for it. Who is to say you can't call a child fox.

You have creep up there ( I'm taking it a rocky fan? Roco Creed sounds pretty cool lol. I might have to steal )

Fox - please no. Unless you're prepared to use another vermin name for the middle. Like rat, maybe?

Hmm aren't you a delight.

eeehbyegum · 14/05/2020 08:39

I love Fox!

From your list I also like Nico.

Some random suggestions:- Luca, Mason, Fred, Grayson, Jago, Aubrey, Santiago, Emiliano

Greenmarmalade · 14/05/2020 01:46

Fox is cool.
Love Rory and Emilio.

missnevermind · 14/05/2020 01:43

@babynamelover are you in the Midlands. Grin

LochJessMonster · 14/05/2020 00:48

Kai
Kayden
Kit
Luca

TatianaBis · 14/05/2020 00:37

Rory or Louis. The rest are somewhat dire.

Creed = footballer’s aftershave.
Cullen = Cullen Skink (fish soup)
The less said about Jaxxon the better.

MikeUniformMike · 13/05/2020 15:07

Beaver?

Iwalkinmyclothing · 12/05/2020 16:16

Finley- lovely name
Jaxxon- why not Jackson? Not my taste but nothing wrong with it
Creed- I don't think this works as a name
Emilio- beautiful name but do you have Italian/ Spanish heritage?
River- like, always think of River Phoenix
Cullen- for me this is a surname and makes me think 'sullen'
Rory- lovely name
Louie- like, but would use Louis
Sonny- l only like this as ds2 has a lovely friend called Sonny and
Nico- lovely name

I don't see anything wrong with Fox, if you can call a child Raven, Bear or Wren why not Fox? Not my taste but if you love it, don't let other people pursing their lips over it put you off.

Micah?

SporadicNamechange · 12/05/2020 16:08

I like Cullen. One of DS1’s friends at school was a Cullen. They’re both 20 now, so it was nothing to do with sparkly vampires.

DoctorBambino · 11/05/2020 11:25

Fox just makes me think of Sarah's day. I'm not keen.

Finley - I like it a lot
Jaxxon - its ok
Creed - no assassins creed
Emilio - no
River - hmm maybe
Cullen - yeah although reminds me of dragon age inquisition
Rory - its ok
Louie - yeah
Sonny - yeah
Nico - yes

Leflic · 10/05/2020 22:35

Fox is a great name!

I quite like Creed. It does mean a belief system ( Credo) but I’d think of American cowboys or boxers.

Sonny and Louis have been done to death round hear. Yawn

As has Nico but I still quite like it because I knew a delightful one.

No to River. Definitely no to Jaxxon just for the x’s

The rest work if you are Scottish or Italian

midsomermurderess · 10/05/2020 21:19

Reynard.

tillytoodles1 · 10/05/2020 18:51

My fil is called Woolfe. It's an old family name and he's in his 90's.

IckleBear · 10/05/2020 18:42

I like Fox as a middle name say something like Elijah Fox...
How about Cosmo?

MikeUniformMike · 10/05/2020 15:11

Fox - depends on the surname. He'll get called Foxy, For Fox' Sake jokes.
Finley - ok
Jaxxon - dreadful
Creed - dreadful
Emilio - Emilia is too popular
River - not sure
Cullen - no
Rory - fine
Louie - Louis is much better
Sonny - too nicknamey. A bit crap on a grown man
Nico - not keen

I dislike Arlo

I suggest Wolf.

ButDoUAvocado · 10/05/2020 10:50

Love Fox, I think it’s cool. I know a Wolf and a toddler called Bear and no one bats an eyelid round here at those.

‘tryna’ isn’t an actual word.

Frazzled2207 · 10/05/2020 10:45

I just think Fox Mulder but I’m old (42)

123Dancewithme · 10/05/2020 10:43

Anything but Jaxxon!

CodenameVillanelle · 10/05/2020 10:37

Fox - pretentious
Finley - nice
Jaxxon - why the double X?? Spell it Jackson
Creed - lol
Emilio - are you Spanish? If not, pretentious
River - actually quite nice for an out there name
Cullen - twilight?
Rory - nice
Louie - spell it Louis but it's nice
Sonny - ok
Nico - ok

Mucklowe · 10/05/2020 10:32

Finley - fine, at a push.
Jaxxon - fuck no.
Creed - this isn't a name. You aren't a Kardashian.
Emilio - only if you're Italian.
River - at a push.
Cullen - surname.
Rory - lovely.
Louie - nice.
Sonny - only as a nickname.
Nico - ok.

I'd stick with Fox.

Brownyblonde · 10/05/2020 10:26

Yes that's right &@blackbear. I was just explaining my rationale to a previous poster on why I pronounce my son 'Lewis' who's name is 'Louis' Smile
