Any ideas on middle names for Louis?

We've used any names that are meaningful to us so haven't got anything like that other than my DH's name and he's not keen!

Huh? Zombie thread. @AforAlexandra start a new thread for your query.

@BettyUnderswoob

And definitely Louis, not Louie... Louie looks illiterate.
This. And Louie is a diminutive of Louise.

Louis a French name. St Louis was originally pronounced correctly as it was founded by French fur traders.

Louis Benjamin & Louis Theodore are both lovely 😍

mellicauli · 10/05/2020 23:48

I have a Louis Benjamin. It is a fine name and have never regretted it.

He did get a bit confused at one point and thought his middle name was Budgen. Another option to consider, maybe 😀

ToyKitchenSink · 10/05/2020 23:42

Sorry if this comes across harsh but Louis is the correct spelling for the pronunciation you're looking for. Please don't spell it phonetically for a few ignorant people who don't know any better.

CocoLoco87 · 10/05/2020 23:21

Louis Benjamin. Love it!

Mikki2019 · 10/05/2020 23:13

Louis is a French boys’ name

Grufallosfriends · 10/05/2020 22:21

I've only ever seen Louise or Louisa as girls' names.

Louie is a boy's name imo.

peperethecat · 10/05/2020 16:03

Louis Alexander

Mikki2019 · 10/05/2020 15:49

needausername99 · 10/05/2020 12:26

I really like Louis Benjamin

topcat2014 · 10/05/2020 08:21

Mountbatten surely :)

Grufallosfriends · 10/05/2020 08:08

Louie is pronounced Lou-ie

Louis is pronounced Lou-is to n most countries outside of France. Eg Louis is popular in Germany where it's pronounced Lou-is. And n America the city of St Louis is pronounced Lou-is.

I think Louie is the more popular spelling in the Uk now?

BettyUnderswoob · 10/05/2020 02:12

And definitely Louis, not Louie... Louie looks illiterate.

BettyUnderswoob · 10/05/2020 02:11

Theodore and Benjamin are both fantastic... you can’t go wrong with one of those.

My personal preference is Louis Benjamin though.

Aclh13 · 10/05/2020 01:02

Louis benjamin is a better name imo, also I have a few friends called louis its quite french, but louie is cuter and easier to spot x

Kitchendoctor · 09/05/2020 23:15

I would go with Louie as people will pronounce the s and he/you will be forever correcting them.

Seaweed42 · 09/05/2020 23:13

James

Malysh · 09/05/2020 23:03

Louis is the proper french spelling so I'd stick with it. If a couple of people misspell it they will promptly be corrected when they hear it.
