Found this word in the dictionary meaning the warmth of the sun on a winters day. Thinking it would make an excellent unusual girls name, particularly one born in the winter months. Thoughts?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think a lot of people would pronounce it apri- city.

FeedMeSantiago · 08/05/2020 08:32

Never come across the word apricity before.

Tesni is a Welsh girls name which means 'warmth from the sun'. It's pronounced TESS-nee.

Spirali · 08/05/2020 08:25

Makes me think of an acidic apricot.

MrsMop1964 · 08/05/2020 08:24

I think it sounds like the name of a uility company unfortunately

TheVanguardSix · 08/05/2020 08:20

It does not have an attractive sound to it at all, despite its meaning. It's just not a nameworthy word. Sorry.

NailsNeedDoing · 08/05/2020 08:15

It sounds like you liked the word electricity and tried to somehow turn it into a name. It would be ok for a company, not so much for a child.

whatausername · 08/05/2020 08:12

I went to search the word online - it came up with a fertility clinic and a dental lab.

whatausername · 08/05/2020 08:10

Do you not care about your child? Why lumber her with such a moniker?

Othersvoices · 08/05/2020 08:10

First thing I thought was Apricot
Second thing was Electricity.

It's a harsh name and doesn't look or sound good imho. Sorry.

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/05/2020 07:33

Bloodylego
My take would be a combination of hormones and the current societal need to be “original“... ironically to be nothing but as all the slebs are at it.

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 08/05/2020 07:08

It's awful, sorry. Why would you do that?

Miriel · 08/05/2020 07:02

It sounds like you couldn't choose between April and Felicity.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 08/05/2020 07:01

Sounds like a brand of yoghurt.

All joking aside, I consider myself to be well read and I’ve never heard this word before and on first glance thought it a combination of April and Felicity. Eeeek.

overnightangel · 08/05/2020 06:59

Sounds like a medical condition

JudyCoolibar · 08/05/2020 06:56

tbh it sounds to me like two corporate companies have merged and chosen a new name.

This

babynamelover · 08/05/2020 06:46

Not good, sorry.

Carrie7469 · 08/05/2020 06:42

It sounds like an electricity company

BelfastNonBlonde · 08/05/2020 06:41

It looks like a mistake

MysteriesOfTheOrganism · 08/05/2020 06:40

Good word, terrible name. Sorry, OP.

Celticdawn5 · 08/05/2020 06:33

No.too awkward to say and a lifetime of having to spell her name out to receptionists/telephone etc (speaking as one who has to do this time and time again )

TonyChestnut · 08/05/2020 06:29

Is that you Gwyneth?

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/05/2020 06:28

April and Avril, yes. Apricity Would be a hell of a burden imo.

A PRE CITY think what fun the bullies could have with that!

Unusual names can be lovely but make sure they aren’t unusual for all the wrong reasons. I think it’s on apar with Apple and other bullshit names.

PeppaisaBitch · 08/05/2020 06:19

There are so many beautiful names. Why chose a random word that isn't a name.

GoFiguire · 08/05/2020 06:17

Is this the new Keanu?

Dinosauraddict · 08/05/2020 06:16

Actually I think it's beautiful. Probably Prissy for a nn though.
