Found this word in the dictionary meaning the warmth of the sun on a winters day. Thinking it would make an excellent unusual girls name, particularly one born in the winter months. Thoughts?

Just wait till she's 18 to pick her name

NeedToKnow101 · 15/05/2020 23:28

Yuk! Looks ugly written down. Sounds horrible like 1950s US electrics company.
Autumn is nice.
Or Sienna.

marshallrubblechaserockyzoomer · 15/05/2020 23:17

Love it

Davespecifico · 13/05/2020 23:06

You could call her Winter Sun.

bridgetreilly · 13/05/2020 23:04

I thought it was autocorrect for Apricot.

It's just not a nice sounding word. It definitely has the feel of a rebranded company name.

AragornsManlyStubble · 13/05/2020 08:46

I like it, think it’s very pretty. I’d use it.

justonecottonpickingminute · 13/05/2020 00:47

You could just name her floccinaucinihilipilification...

sibbys · 11/05/2020 18:52

I don't want to be horrible.... But that name is just terrible imo.

MyHappinessProjectx · 11/05/2020 13:44

I think it sounds like one of those new electricity companies that knock on your door trying to persuade you to switch to them.

Egghead68 · 11/05/2020 13:42

No

Pinkblueberry · 11/05/2020 13:41

Not many people are going to know what that means or make any connection with the meaning - it’ll just sound like an odd clunky made up name.

Overthinker1988 · 11/05/2020 13:39

Nice meaning but as a name, no...when I first read it I thought it said Aprilcity.
How about April, Avril or Felicity?

TinyTear · 11/05/2020 11:18

Google tells me it's a Fertility clinic, maybe people would think she was a success story from there

toughgetsgoing · 11/05/2020 11:14

middle name OK

zscaler · 11/05/2020 08:06

I love the sentiment of it but the sound is a bit harsh and awkward to my ears.

Chimpd0g · 11/05/2020 00:04

Sorry it sounds like one of those awful team name on the Apprentice

TimothyTerrible · 10/05/2020 02:20

No, doesn’t sound nice, bad nickname potential, lifetime of hassle having to tell people how to spell and pronounce it. And does sound like it should be a power supplier company, give it a few months and it very well could be (they pop up all the time).

Aclh13 · 10/05/2020 02:15

Nope, name sounds too mathematical and stressful also kinda reminds me of stress sweating

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 09/05/2020 17:05

Agree, it sounds like a corporation not a person. Child won't thank you for it.

Rubybluesy · 09/05/2020 01:43

Just no
Choose a proper name

GlamGiraffe · 09/05/2020 01:31

Blimey, if you call a child that and they google it all they will find are dozens of pages on fertility treatment and ivf followed by some on learning difficulties and the rest on CBD oil. That's a very unusual search haul!

GlamGiraffe · 09/05/2020 01:22

Sounds like some kind of shower gel of other toiletry product. Apricot inspired. Do you remember Aapri facial scrub...similar name. Also reminds me of a city in april...april city.

Nice meaning but it sounds like too many other things to be a name in my mind...then again, if you love it, have it.

Edenember · 09/05/2020 01:16

I’m not keen because personal taste... but I’m also not fond of loads of traditional/established names because personal taste.

madcatladyforever · 09/05/2020 00:03

As a word it is a lovely thing but as a name not so much. It will be shortened to prissy.

FamilyOfAliens · 09/05/2020 00:02

@booboostwo why would I make this up?

Why does anyone make anything up? Because they can. Especially on an anonymous forum.
