Twin boys! Opinions??

So my partner and I are having twin boys, a life long dream! We've got the names picked out, but need help with spellings and middle names!
Finn = 100% set in stone
But we cannot decide on the spelling for
Rafe
Which one looks 'right' to you?

Rafe/ Raif/ Raef

(Pronunciation wouldn't change)

Also thinking on the middle names I'm thinking family names, Timothy maybe (after my dad) and Geoffrey (granddad)

But were thinking 2 middle names each and want other names that flow nicely!

Rafe or Ralph.

My preference is Ralph but it causes so much faff that I'd likely end up using Rafe.

Raef looks made up or like a typo.

Raif I think is a spelling from another culture but on searching "Raif" just now it came up with a type of investment fund.

The names are fine but if I heard someone say their name is Rafe I'd definitely assume it was short for Rafael/Raphaël.

In Old Norse Rafe means wise council of the wolf, or something like that, often spelt Rafe rather then Ralph.

Definitely Rafe - it's 'boring' because it's the most commonly used and phonetically correct, which is what everyone will assume, so I'd go with that unless you want him to have a lifetime of correcting people. Raef just looks wrong and Raif will get a strange Ra-EEF' pronunciation from some people. I think Rafe goes beautifully with Finn.

I've literally been set on these names for as long as I can remember, I love other names but I always come back to these two!

I too like the idea of family middle names I think my dad would like it (although not doing it solely for that reason tho Grin)

@Whatsyourflava this is one of the things we are struggling with, Rafe is simple and pronunciation wouldn't be an issue butttt,
I think it's a bit boring and I really like the look of the other spellings!

@IWouldLikeToKnow I think I agree, but my partner slightly prefers Raif and we change out minds every other day!!

Finn is one of my favourite boys names, Rafe is great too and would go for that spelling.

I don't think it matters if you give your boys one or two middle names as they'll use them so little. I have two and like them both but they have no impact on my life in general and certainly cause no issues with form filling Grin

It's lovely to give a child middle names that have meaning or family names or just another name you love.

I'd definitely spell it Rafe as if you look at the statistics it's by far the most commonly used spelling so it'll be the spelling most people will assume "is it spelt Rafe?" And he can just say "yes"
