Curious post - What names have you heard previously or if you heard them would make you go "wow" (in good way) or a name you'd think was simply sublime? Interested to hear your wow names

It's actually the name of the granddad in the waltons.

dd has two friends called

Cordiana
and
Nielufar (called Nielu usually)

I think both of them are "wow"

Years ago I knew a little boy called Zeno who was so cool you didn't know whether you were thinking "wow" at his name or at him (he was a third-grade "mentor" to my son when he entered school)

wizzler · 23/05/2020 23:30

I know a Sorelle, a Zinnia and a Hebe and they are all lovely

Dd goes to school with Calypso which I think is beautiful.

stuckindoors77 · 23/05/2020 23:02

I knew a Zuleika at school, it apparently means outstandingly beautiful and she lived up to it as she was gorgeous and massively popular with everybody.

@GoatyGoatyMingeMinge Really you'd want to answersmash it, surely:

@Aclh13 I'm so glad you mentioned Blair, that's my Grandaughter's name :-)

DollyDaydream70 · 23/05/2020 22:11

I like Aurora because of Sleeping Beauty. Also Octavia, Jezebel (although things didn't end well for the famous one!) Dolores and Delilah. For boys: My youngest Son is called Jude, I still love his name. I also like Rubin, Noah, Isacc, Levi, Malachi and Elijah, all such lovely names :-) I also love flower names for girls: Poppy, Daisy, Lily, Iris, Primrose, Violet, Ivy, Bluebell, Marigold, Jasmine... all very cute!

All names completely different from what was on my list when I had my son. I've only heard of Zephania in recent years, but if I had known of it when pregnant, my son may well have been called that!
