Jack is a classic but there are 4 in my DS1 year and 5 at nursery. Bit like Emily, lovely name, loads of them. Jake is a bit more cool I'd say, and I've only met 1. Depends what suits your family.

They're both nice names but have a different feel to them. Jack is more "classic" I suppose, although originally it would have been a nickname for John.

I would go for Jake if you put Jacob on the birth certificate, but I wouldn't put Jake on a birth certificate because it's too casual.

People think Jack will be really popular/common so go for Jake, then there ends up being loads of Jakes and barely any Jack's!
