No I’m afraid I think too much E and th in this combo, though both are beautiful names

Better would be something using one of them like:

Edith Mary (Mary is hugely underused and beautiful IMO(

I don't really like names that end in 'ith' for example Lilith and Edith sounds to me like an elderly great aunt.

My youngest is Edith shes 11 months, i wanted Edith Elizabeth but my husband works for EE so we decided against it!! She is Edith Jay instead

I think it's lovely. The 'E' sounds at the start are different and there are four syllables from 'ith' to 'eth'. It doesn't sound matchy or twee to me.

If you'd be referring to her as Edith Elizabeth a lot then it's a bit much with the 2 th sounds. But if Elizabeth is purely a middle name (ie rarely spoken) then it's lovely. Edie Elizabeth flows better if you wanted something that can be said as one.

Too many 'th' sounds for me... it's very lispy, and I'm not mad on Edith.

If it was Edie Elizabeth, however, I'd be saying how gorgeous it is.

I like Edith shortened to Edie- my middle name is Elizabeth and I hate it, although I know it's quite popular on MN, I don't know why. Don't mind the alliteration, no one uses their middle name anyway so I wouldn't be too worried about that.

I really don’t like Edith. I like ‘granny’ names but Edith is too ‘granny’ for me...I’d no sooner use Edith than I would Edna or Mavis.
I love Elizabeth but think it’s too same-y with Edith

Love the name Edith. I knew an Edith many years ago and she made the name so cool when it was very much out of fashion, so that has coloured my judgement. If I'd had a girl, I would have wanted an Edith.

Edith Elizabeth is a lovely combination.

I’m not sure about them both ending in the ‘th’ sound, but that’s certainly not serious enough of a problem to discard using them together. Perfectly acceptable, doesn’t sound silly.

If they're two names you love I wouldn't focus on if they flow perfectly or whatever as middle names are rarely used. I think they're two great names and i would definitely use this name 🥰
