Love the name Charlotte and Lottie, can’t decide between them. But DH says if we went for Lottie it would be spelt Lotte. Is it pronounced the same??

I'd pronounce that Lotta
Lottie is Lottie ! Why make it confusing...?
I'm considering Lotta for DC 3 if it's a girl...

TheMarzipanDildo · 01/05/2020 19:19

Lot. I think that’s just me though
linguistically challenged

Scarletoharaseyebrows · 01/05/2020 19:16

The only Lotte I know is Lott-er / Lott-uh (short last syllable)

Thesearmsofmine · 01/05/2020 19:16

I’ve always thought Lotte is said Law-ta. It’s Scandinavian I think?

Elouera · 01/05/2020 19:14

I wasn't 100% sure, and thought possible Lott or Lotta.

Why give a name that A) needs spelling out and B) people will pronounce incorrectly half the time???

Just go with Lottie!

Glowcat · 01/05/2020 19:14

Tuh is a better way to put it

glitterfarts · 01/05/2020 19:12

Lot-ar

Chewbecca · 01/05/2020 19:11

I would be unsure how to pronounce...

LittlePesto · 01/05/2020 19:10

I'd say Lott-uh if I seen that written.

Glowcat · 01/05/2020 19:10

Lottie - Lot-E

Lotte - Lot- A

redbigbananafeet · 01/05/2020 19:09

The same as Lottie

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 01/05/2020 19:09

Lott-ah. As in the German eg Lieselotte.

Pelleas · 01/05/2020 19:08

Lotta

Cattenberg · 01/05/2020 19:08

I’d pronounce it Lotta, but that’s because it looks like a Dutch/German/Scandinavian name for me.

Every Lottie I’ve known (admittedly not many) has spelt it Lottie.

Christmasbiscuits · 01/05/2020 19:07

I'd think that Lotte was pronounced Lott-a

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 01/05/2020 19:06

I’d probably pronounce it the same as Lottie.
But I wouldn’t like a name where I would have to correct people on how to spell it.
