Clover

Is it a hard name to pull off ? Personally I can see a quieter, less strong-willed character carrying the name fine but wanted some second thoughts. We love it and Clo, Cloves etc, also think it's fine on an adult so looking more on how the name works in real life as opposed to general love hate comments on it

Whether quiet or outgoing, I think she'll need to be quite confident.

Cindie943811A · 01/05/2020 21:27

I think it’s lovely and preferable to Daisy, actually.

SnowdropFox · 01/05/2020 20:05

I like it. Reminds me of Watership Down firstly.
I cant imagine it on a fiery child though, it's the sort of name that could really not suit someone. I'd give her a more mainstream option for a middle name.

Umnoway · 01/05/2020 17:51

Makes me think of the margarine and the advert in the noughties- ‘we all love clover, it’s the way that it’s churned’.

daisypond · 01/05/2020 17:32

I like it. I don’t think of someone quiet at all. It has the same vibe as Daisy, more or less, to me.

TempsPerdu · 01/05/2020 17:05

I’ve loved it ever since reading ‘Why Katy Did’ as a child. Definite marmite name though! For me it has a warm, sunny feel and make me think of someone creative and artistic - though not ‘quiet’ necessarily.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 01/05/2020 17:02

It's a cow name, but then so is Daisy, and it manages to be popular, so maybe it would be okay. I do like the name.

Shopkinsdoll · 01/05/2020 16:49

Maybe cute for a little tot but certainly not as a grown adult. Margarine

Ingridla · 01/05/2020 16:38

It's actually quite pretty but I'll bet she'd end up with the nickname Marge

redwoodmazza · 01/05/2020 11:20

It's sweet!
I can see her in a gingham dress.

LotusClover · 01/05/2020 11:08

This is another one of those names that you either love or you hate, but I love it. It's unique and different without being too "out there". I think I'd be too scared to use it on my own child, but I do like it a lot.

P.S. My username doesn't really have any significance, it was just a random name I thought of, so I'm not biased lol

ofwarren · 01/05/2020 10:53

Cow and margarine

PeskyRooks · 01/05/2020 10:50

It's my dd1s middle name so I love it & so does she!

GreyGardens88 · 01/05/2020 10:49

Not a fan

samandpoppysmummy · 01/05/2020 10:48

It makes me think of the Katy books too :)

Peachbubble · 01/05/2020 10:47

I like it. I see it as a gentle, kind name too.

sanityisamyth · 01/05/2020 10:24

It's a margarine

Iwalkinmyclothing · 01/05/2020 10:23

Makes me think of the Katy books, and the Clover in those was lovely :)

babynamelover · 01/05/2020 10:19

Fits with the whole Olive, Hazel, Ivy vibe 😊

Dinosauraddict · 01/05/2020 10:18

Sorry but it reminds me of two things a) a cow and b) the butter/spread. I've never met a human Clover.

ApocalypseNowt · 01/05/2020 10:13

I do think of it as a cow name, sorry.

emmathedilemma · 01/05/2020 10:12

I like it, I think it suits a range of personalities.

Nquartz · 01/05/2020 10:11

@Lemonlady22 made me think of butter/spread too. There's a song from the advert, but I can't quite remember it, something about clover all over, not sure if it is still advertised like that though

AppropriateAdult · 01/05/2020 10:11

For me the immediate association
is with the ‘What Katy Did’ books, so it’s a positive one.

Lemonlady22 · 01/05/2020 10:08

It's a spread isn't it...well in the UK it is. It is lovely but that alone would put me off.
