Really struggling to settle on a name for our baby boy due in a few weeks. Thoughts on the name Rowan? Is this seen as more of a girls name?

I know a couple of kids and adults named Rowan. Both male and female so I wouldn't think anything of a baby boy Rowan. I personally love the name!

I like it, and think of it as a boy's name.

Beware of similar R- names (Roman, Rohan, Reuben, Rory...) that are currently getting popular.

I see it as a boys name and Rowena as the girls version because I know some adult male Rowans and a female Rowena. Also there are famous male Rowans. Rowan Atkinson and the previous arch Bishop of Canterbury.
I know know people use it for girls too now but if you like it use it. It's perfectly OK for a boy

Congratulations on your baby boy. I see Rowan as more of a girls name (Row-Anne), but that’s just me as it’s definitely unisex and just depends where you live.

It’s quite a bit higher up the charts for boys in England, but in Scotland it’s in the top 100 chart for girls, but not in the top 100 chart for boys. Definitely increasingly used as a girls name in US as celebs are using it for their daughters.

I think it’s absolutely fine to use for a boy but I wouldn’t use the name myself due to the fact it’s very similar to RoMan and RoHan. RoMan is the current fastest rising boy name. All quite trendy names having a moment. Do you have any other names in mind?
