Which name do you prefer out of
Felicity or
Penelope?

I love them both although slightly worried about the rise in popularity of Felicity.

Also any other suggestions? Smile

Penelope

Juliaplus4 · 01/05/2020 22:47

I prefer Penelope.

NameChange84 · 01/05/2020 12:06

Verity?

Persephone nn Sephy

Emily

Out of the three you’ve mentioned I think Felicity sounds the nicest. The ones I’ve always met have the nickname Flick though which you may or may not like!

Spirali · 01/05/2020 10:57

Sorry for the 3rd post but there’s someone I follow on Instagram who’s daughter goes by City. I couldn’t understand who in their right mind would name their daughter that but I started getting used to it and even liking it. Anyway turns out it’s short for Felicity!

AdelaideK · 01/05/2020 10:57

Felicity. I'm not a fan of Penelope it's too clunky.

Spirali · 01/05/2020 10:55

Oh and I LOVE Romilly! It was my lovely midwives name Grin

Spirali · 01/05/2020 10:54

I’ve not noticed a massive rise in popularity with Felicity. However, even if it is getting more popular, I really don’t think it’s ever going to be a top 50/20 name.

Whatsyourflava · 01/05/2020 10:06

I don't like Romilly - sounds really masculine to me, but love all your other choices

31weeksandcounting · 01/05/2020 10:04

Thank you everyone for your input, pretty much an even divide Smile

What do you all think of Romilly as an alternative?

Penelope, love penny as nn too

Samantha1712xx · 30/04/2020 21:59

Penelope!!! I love this name but my other half hated it 😩

Soubriquet · 30/04/2020 18:05

Felicity

I actually know a felicity. She goes by Fliss

bridgetreilly · 30/04/2020 18:04

Felicity. They're both lovely and neither are super-popular.

MamaDane · 30/04/2020 17:12

Penelope 😉

Umnoway · 30/04/2020 17:09

Penelope. Really dislike Felicity.

Mucklowe · 30/04/2020 16:12

Felicity!

Penelope is such a clumsy, cumbersome name.

CaitlinEJ · 30/04/2020 14:45

Felicity

Mums4life00 · 30/04/2020 06:16

Penelope for sure! Not to keen of Felicity

BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs · 29/04/2020 10:55

Felicity. I like Flick, Lissy, Floss, Fliss etc too.

I like Penny, Pen, and Nel as nns but not Penelope so much. It still says 'Pitstop' to me!

Romilly is great. I prefer Cara to Cora, but Thea is nice too.

It's a good list Op!

31weeksandcounting · 29/04/2020 09:38

@NellyTimes Grinthat's what my husband said!

Don't like either but Fizzy is such a cute nn or Lissy

peperethecat · 29/04/2020 09:28

Really like them both.

Maybe think about how they can be shortened and see if that helps you decide.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 29/04/2020 09:25

Felicity

LynetteScavo · 29/04/2020 09:24

The thing is, if the name Felicity is rising in popularity, more posters her will say they prefer it. I think Penelope made a bit of a leap in the names charts when one of the kardashians named their DD Penelope.

I think you need to look at your baby and see which one suites her best. Also look at the meaning of the name.
