Expecting first baby late July, we know that we are having a boy. DH likes the name Ronnie, which I wasn't originally keen on but coming round to it.
We originally liked Oliver but decided against it because of how popular it is. We also like Alfie but I think I prefer Ronnie out of the two and is probably less popular... Thoughts please?

One of the biggest thugs I know ( plus his wife of course) had a baby at the beginning of the year and called him this.
He has openly gloated that he'll make sure his boy lives up to his name
Please think carefully before you do this to a child

Very chavvy now, sorry

Chirpychirpy3 · 25/04/2020 13:22

Don’t like it but I’m not a fan of nicknames as full names.

Really sorry, but I can only think of Biggs or Kray. Both criminals.
I like it short for Veronica for a girl. Not helpful obviously..

It’s slang for moustache in Ireland.

I there are 4 Ronnie's and 4 Alfie's in my DC's year of school (year 3). 2 classes per year group

It's awful, sounds like a thug's name. Irrational, I know, but you did ask for opinions.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 25/04/2020 13:02

One of the Kray twins. Gangster. Murder. Violence. Prison.

Sexnotgender · 25/04/2020 13:01

Awful.

It's cute but it is definitely growing in popularity. I know of three born in the last year Confused
