Thoughts? Heard it the other day can it be taken seriously - the sound isn't frilly and it's simple to spell, say, don't mind Lola and Lottie as shortenings either but need some more opinions

Makes me think of Melania Trump - FLOTUS.

Tenpintonpin · 25/04/2020 06:22

Lotus was my best friend's name when I was little Smile. As a child I don't think it had any connotations for me, other than as some sort of "pretty, unusual flower". I've just tried searching on her name and she is instantly findable on the internet, so the name clearly hasn't had much use over the years!

TKAAHUARTG · 25/04/2020 06:14

The lotus is commonly used as a symbol of the vagina. Isn't it mentioned in that song in nighty night? Genius, yet massively repulsive.

habibihabibi · 25/04/2020 06:07

It's a santiary pad brand where I live, be it an eco friendly one.

BelfastNonBlonde · 25/04/2020 04:50

It’s not even a nice sounding word to be honest

BelfastNonBlonde · 25/04/2020 04:49

No

LozEliza · 25/04/2020 04:16

Honestly I just thought of the insect 'locust'

Wheresthebiffer2 · 25/04/2020 00:09

sounds like a brand of feminine hygiene products, or toilet paper

myangelalex · 24/04/2020 18:50

Goodness! No!

Jamiladodger · 24/04/2020 18:07

Wait....is that a yoga position? Why do I think of sex 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

Jamiladodger · 24/04/2020 18:06

Car / sexual position

Strugglingtodomybest · 24/04/2020 17:50

I can understand your reasoning but it just makes me think of sex/ vulva.

Me too, but I don't know why!

BurneyFanny · 24/04/2020 17:20

Brand of toilet paper across much of Europe

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 24/04/2020 14:09

It's a very pretty flower and a yoga position. I say go for it

jaoler · 24/04/2020 13:10

I actually quite like it! I wouldn't use it myself, but I'd like it if I heard it!!! 😂

Blursula · 24/04/2020 12:54

I’m sorry but it just makes me think of a vagina

Mucklowe · 24/04/2020 11:43

Too many sexual connotations. Also the "-tus" part is an ugly sound.

MikeUniformMike · 24/04/2020 11:38

You need to use Elise as a middle name.

bridgetreilly · 24/04/2020 11:09

Also the sound is different from Lottie, so I wouldn't find that a natural short form. Lola, maybe.

bridgetreilly · 24/04/2020 11:08

I thought you were thinking of it for a boy, too. Like the cars.

HalfTermHalfTerm · 24/04/2020 10:59

I really don’t like the sound of it (sorry) and for some reason I think it sounds very masculine so even though it’s a flower/plant I assumed you were going to be talking about naming a boy when I clicked on the thread Blush Confused

Lola is lovely though!

FawnDrench · 24/04/2020 09:59

It's a shoe label, so a definite no from me.
Also, reminds me of "locust".

Hayfevered · 24/04/2020 09:57

Too many associations. It's a cross-legged meditation pose for me.

Figgygal · 24/04/2020 09:56

It’s a car or a biscuit
No it can’t be taken seriously for a person

Speedqueen2 · 24/04/2020 09:56

It's a car!
