okay I love the name Maverick-means nonconformist and I love Chosen for a name but I was looking for names with the same meaning as Maverick and a name similar to Chosen. Also another name that incorporates Angela in it but not Angelina, Angelo, Angel, Angelica, or Angelique i'm looking for something different. And the same thing with the name Robert but not Robbie, Bobbie, Roberta etc.

Chosen Yewneeq maii
Stick a few hyphens in too.
‘Chosen! Get in here now!!’ ‘Chosen, you’ve got poo all over your hair’ ‘it’s Chosens optician appointment today’ ‘RobertAngel get down from that right now!!’ ‘Tell RebelDivine his dinners ready’. 😄😄😄

Merlin is a phenomenal name! I’d never be brave enough to use it though.

I know someone with a brother called Drummond. She and her other brother have names along the lines of Sarah and John, so I’ve always thought that Drummond got a far more original name!

if you do not take care of your child yes you are looked at as a parent incase you didnt know

I have literally no idea what this means.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

No. That's not how Mumsnet works.

I absolutely love Prosper - funnily enough I was telling DH that yesterday! It’s a bit ‘public school’ for the likes of us but it’s gorgeous with a lovely meaning.

How about Seraphine or Seraphina for a girl? The seraphim are angels. You can spell it Serafina too.

missmouse101 · 22/04/2020 21:11

Prosper Cassian? Prosper Ashley? Prosper Felix? Prosper Sidney?

Acaciaqu · 22/04/2020 20:35

@Pigeonpresent True

@missmouse101 but what other name sounds good with it like a middle or first name

missmouse101 · 22/04/2020 20:22

My friend's brothers are called Merlin and Prosper. Great names!

Bella444 · 22/04/2020 20:22

Adaline?

Pigeonpresent · 22/04/2020 20:21

So if Op wanted to call her child Oliver or Jack she might be giving him a dull name that he hates when he turns out to be a rebel. Jack can choose to change it, just as Maverick might.
Call your child a name you love, of course it will reflect, rather than represent, you.
I like Wilder and Angela is Anakela in Hawaii.

Actressy · 22/04/2020 18:58

ALL parents name their children names they like, they think will fit, after their family, after important things to THEM etc

They also think 'How can I give my baby a name I like, that is meaningful to me/my family, but which will not limit/embarrass/overly define my child as he/she grows to adulthood?' The fact is that you can have no idea what your child will be like as a personality, and the shape their life will take in adulthood -- your approach on this thread suggests that you have confused naming a child with choosing a tattoo.

Acaciaqu · 22/04/2020 18:57

@GiveMyHeadPeaceffs ahaha funny

@Actressy well hello again. once again your comment dont have anything to do with anything because yet again ALL parents name their children names they like, they think will fit, after their family, after important things to THEM etc. If you dislike any of the names here stay off of the post. please and thank you.

特立独行的

There you go, according to Google, that's Maverick in mandarin. Same name, different language.

Hope the input helps Grin
