I love the names
Elijah
Isiah
Jonah
Rupert
Atticus

My partner likes
George (one of our ds middle name 🙄)
Gabriel (rhymes with another ds name 🙄)
Philip (this does not go with any of our other children’s names at all)
Thor (it’s okay)

After much debate We settled on Stanley for him to say 8 weeks on that he’s changed his mind. We’ve spent a good hour or 2 going through names today and we just can’t agree. We had to stop as he says my ideas were ridiculous but his are even more so to me!

Any idea of a name that might suit both our tastes? 🙈

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Silas
Gideon
Amos

bridgetreilly · 19/04/2020 10:07

Gabriel actually would go really well with the other names, and it doesn't rhyme with any of them.

CaffiSaliMali · 19/04/2020 10:02

I was going to suggest Asa but I see you already have one. Great name!

Your names are better than your husband's - Philip and George don't go with your other DC.

Asa, Noah, Zebedee, Abel and...

Joel
Asher
Saul
Ezra
Aaron
Judah
Raphael
Michael
Reuben
Jacob
Josiah
Abram (alternative to Abraham)
Amos
Barnaby / Barnabas
Enoch
David
Daniel
Ezra

Some of these names are a bit more common than your existing names, and so might appeal to your DH, but are also biblical names.

Verily1 · 19/04/2020 10:02

Gabriel goes best with the others.

It doesn’t sound very similar to Abel to my ears.

And if you won’t even use the full name this name is the best solution surely??

Blursula · 19/04/2020 08:01

Love OT names and your boys’ names. Agree that your DH’s suggestions don’t go! I love Gabriel but Gabe would not go with our surname at all - we are toying with using the nn Gael (Which would solve your rhyming problem) but I’m not sure how much you can force a nn!

Agree Jonah would be fab (it’s our current #1) and Seth works too.

Some other thoughts:
Elias (Eli)
Solomon (Sol)
Jovan (Jo/Jove)
Beauden (Beau)
Zachariah (Zach)
Judah (Jude)
Jonas

And congrats, 5 boys sounds bloody awesome.

How about Eden

BeamerTown · 19/04/2020 00:27

How about Levison - nn. Levi?

winchestersandwich · 19/04/2020 00:22

My favourite Old Testament name is Oren.

Kezmum14 · 19/04/2020 00:14

@Walkon love it but we have a Zeb so would get confusing. I sometimes think i could only ever use a full name but even Asa gets called Ace or Acey and I didn’t think it could ever be shortened or given a nn

@alexdgr8 I’d love 6 boys but we will have to see what the future holds. :) I can’t imagine being a Mum to a girl. The boys are all so chilled out and loving. My friends daughters are lovely but even lovelier when returned home 🤣
Yes, a name on neither list that I perhaps haven’t seen before.

whirlwinds · 19/04/2020 00:11

Xander?

Walkon · 19/04/2020 00:06

Sebastian

Kezmum14 · 19/04/2020 00:06

I’ve suggested Ellis and it’s a no. 😢
I love Abraham but trying to stay clear of another A name. Although Bram is cool so will suggest it tomorrow. :)

Tillygetsit · 19/04/2020 00:05

Lemuel?

alexdgr8 · 19/04/2020 00:04

gosh, five boys, it used to be a chocolate bar from fry's of bristol !
each of them had names, like desperation, anticipation etc. so no use here.
will you keep going until you get a girl !
so are you looking for another name that does not yet appear on either of your lists.
i rather like stanley. what about sidney. robert. james. christopher. stephen. patrick. david. andrew. joseph. benjamin. frederick. peter.

Kezmum14 · 19/04/2020 00:03

We discussed maybe the nn Gabby but neither of us would use it so he’d definitely get called Gabe so no good although we may use Gabriel as a middle name. We literally fo round in circles.

babycakes1010 · 19/04/2020 00:03

Ellis

ShowOfHands · 19/04/2020 00:02

I love Abraham (Bram) and have a Raphael (Raph).

NameChange30 · 18/04/2020 23:58

Gabriel is the only one on his list which "goes" with the others but it rhymes with Abel FFS

Kezmum14 · 18/04/2020 23:58

@Cbeebiesrehab @MrsEricBana thank you ☺️

OP posts:
NameChange30 · 18/04/2020 23:58

Well if he doesn't like any then he can push the baby out and decide 🙄
Men who are this difficult about naming decisions do annoy me.

Kezmum14 · 18/04/2020 23:56

@NameChange30Can you imagine Noah, Zeb, Asa, Abel and Phil. I think he’s lost the plot! 🤣
Only names on your list i haven’t suggested are Simon, Ethan and Jacob as I know people with these names. He doesn’t like any apparently 🙈

I love Tobias, Seth, Rex and Jude. Will see how they go down tomorrow

OP posts:
MrsEricBana · 18/04/2020 23:52

Ezra and Isaac work too

NameChange30 · 18/04/2020 23:52

PS I hope you don't mind me saying I'm glad you decided against Stanley, it definitely seems the dud option compared to your other children's names!

MrsEricBana · 18/04/2020 23:51

Great names! Jude leaps at me as number 5.
