Brother to Everest

Hi all
I have a 2 yo named Everest and we love the name. We call him Evi (Ev-ee) for short.
I’m looking for another unique boy name that’s cool like everest but not one of the growingly popular cool names. Needs to be less known.
We were thinking of Oslo (ozzy as a nn). What do you think of that? My husband worries it sounds like a dogs name though I’ve never heard of a dog named Oslo. Is it too weird?

Any thoughts or other ideas that are unique and strong like everest?

Or mendi / berg / vuori which google reliably informs me are the Catalan, German and Finnish words for mountain.

If you're going for ridiculous names based on mountains - your poor children! - why not go the whole hog and call your child Orodruin? You could shorten it to Dru. Or Ruin. Or Rod.

This has to be Coronahumour, right?

I did know a little boy called Rocky once, he was very quiet and shy and absolutely didn't inhabit his name (although this might have changed over time). I was thinking of Rocky Balboa though, unfortunately for him.

I actually love it op, and I love Oslo too, not even taking the piss. I have a friend who called her sons Axl, Elvis, and Thor and it hasn't done them any harm haha. I actually really like the suggestion upthread of Gulliver.

Fantasiaa · 18/04/2020 12:29

I agree. His name is already Everest so what’s the point in critiquing naming your child after a mountain ? Pointless.

flapjackfairy · 18/04/2020 12:28

An uphill struggle ha ha
Good one @ staypositive

Blursula · 18/04/2020 12:28

@Staypositivepeople tbh I’m more likely to laugh at people who don’t know the difference between ‘your and you’re’ and ‘to’ and ‘too’ than someone with an unusual name.

There’s absolutely no point in shaming a name that has already been given to a child for the past two years.
