Hi, we're having a boy and have decided on a name, but not the spelling! He's not going to be called Zachary/Zakary on the birth cert, we want the shortened version only. Which spelling would you go for?

Zack 😁 but if it has to be one of your options then Zach

The two I know of are Zac and Zack.

justdontatme · 17/04/2020 16:42

Zach. Because it’s the shortening of Zachary.

Thanks nuffsaidsam. Zakary Is also a correct spelling just less common. It's more Arabic than Hebrew.

Zach

Zach is an abbreviation of Zachary, that's why Zach is the correct spelling.

Even if you're only using Zach, it's still the correct spelling. Zak looks like you don't know how to spell Zach.

Zach looks classic. Zac is nondescript. Zak looks made up.

LibbyDoollally · 17/04/2020 16:35

Oh my goodness I was veering to Zak but everyone says Zach or Zac. I feel Zach and Zac look a bit more like an abbreviation of Zachary, whereas Zak looked a bit more like a stand alone name. Obvs they all sound the same!

Zachary, with diminutive Zac or Zach. I have a slight preference for Zac.
