Krishna, Raman, Pratik, Jagpreet... some people I’ve known and their names I’ve liked.

No idea how up to date they are, though!

Whatsyourflava · 17/04/2020 14:46

@binkyboinky @123Pandy yeh Rohan is nice but as you’ve already seen, VERY common. Plus when combined with all the Rowan, Roman and Roans it does become very run of the mill and confusing. Roman (with an M) was the fastest rising boys name last year so it’s getting worse.

I really like Vikram, Raj and Arun

I also like Rohan, but we have two in the family.
And Vikram also!
Great suggestions

is Raj too dated? I knew a few of them at school which makes me think it probably is!

DH always liked Vikram.

binkyboinky · 16/04/2020 12:25

My fav boy's name is Rohan Smile
I also like Neel.

daisypond · 16/04/2020 10:35

Could you have a name like Arun, but spell it Aaron?
No, you couldn’t. A Jewish name would be odd.

I knew a little Himanshu once, nicknamed Sunny, he was actually a little ray of sunshine and so cheery

My old bosses little boy is called Nikhil and I always loved it.

KrakowDawn · 15/04/2020 22:18

Rishi means seer, which I like a lot.
Many little boys are called Rohan, seems to be the most popular Indian boy's name where we live.
Tarun is nice, and also Taran is a Welsh name meaning thunder.
I used to know a lovely boy named Pankaj, and I've never met any other.

I have a friend called Prakash. Not sure if it's modern or not, but I absolutely love the name.

Elouera · 15/04/2020 21:25

Is the surname Indian too? Could you have a name like Arun, but spell it Aaron? Hari spelt Harry? Ignore me if the surname isn't Indian.

Love a few of them..Arun, Hari and also Ravi (although I know what you mean, it's a classic!)

Heard Arun was quite common of late ..so might put that as a back up
