Hope

Can I just ask for your honest opinions on Hope please?
I keep coming back to it. However, in my head I keep doubting whether it would work on a "real person".
Ive done some googling and some sites say Hope gets nicknames such as Hopefull or worse Hopeless. Which obviously wouldn't be great if there was teasing potential. Hmm....
Also, would Hope go with Noah? Or not really?

Thank you 😊

I think Hope just sounds a bit cheesy, which is strange as dd1 has a virtue name and I'm a big fan of Faith also but I just can't get behind Hope. Plenty of people like it though :)

Absolutely gorgeous name! Special meaning for me too x

AJTracey · 12/04/2020 17:55

LOVE IT!

midsomermurderess · 12/04/2020 17:54

I think it lovely, and particularly pertinent to current times. A child born now when we all hope for better times.

Fivefourthree · 12/04/2020 17:50

I think it's lovely.

midwesteaster · 12/04/2020 17:48

I like it as a name, it is very classic.

Lindy2 · 12/04/2020 17:43

I like it. I know a small Hope and it suits her. It seems an appropriate name too based upon current circumstances.

Reversiblesequinsforadults · 12/04/2020 17:39

I like it.

Hope is a lovely name, I have met a few girls with it as a first or middle name, and one boy, which surprised me but then again why not?

Roselilly36 · 12/04/2020 17:35

I really like it.

Bobbiepin · 12/04/2020 17:35

I love it, taught a few and they've always been lovely girls but maybe not if you are northern and its gonna sound like "ooorpe" (nothing against northerners, love the accent but it changes the name)

daisypond · 12/04/2020 17:24

I like it a lot. It’s not commonly used at all and the meaning is nice. It goes very well alongside Noah as a type of Puritan/Protestant name.

Greenvilla · 12/04/2020 16:31

I love it!

IDontLikeMondays88 · 12/04/2020 12:48

There is nothing wrong with how it sounds.

It is a syllable @Electrical

Ellmau · 12/04/2020 11:23

A lovely idea.

Orphlids · 12/04/2020 11:00

I love it. Love the simplicity of it, the gentle sound it makes, the meaning. Sounds great with Noah.

Electrical · 12/04/2020 10:17

It’s not a nice sound, it’s barely even a syllable, more of a noise, and I’ve heeard people with English accents putting an inflection type noise in it, to try to drag it out more, like hoOOpe. It’s been very commonly used for years, along with grace, rose, may/mai/mae/rae etc.etc.

Buttercup54321 · 12/04/2020 01:03

Hope goes well with Noah, but its not a name I would choose.
I hope you are being a good girl Hope etc.

I like Hope very much, but it only sounds nice in certain accents.

Bezalelle · 12/04/2020 00:27

It's one of those names where the meaning is lovely but the sound is ugly, like Grace.

LochJessMonster · 12/04/2020 00:23

I think Hope goes well with Noah

(My 2 favourite names are Noah and Lyla)

RoseMartha · 12/04/2020 00:20

I think it is lovely

macdhui · 12/04/2020 00:16

Love Hope and also love Verity

Fantasiaa · 12/04/2020 00:10

I know a few Hope’s all between 11-25. Never had a problem as far as I’m aware.

I don’t love it but it’s a name aha
