Thoughts on the name Aurelia?

Morning everyone! :)

What's everyone's thoughts on the name Aurelia?

From first looking at it how would you automatically assume to pronounce it?

We were thinking either ah-RAY-lee-ah or
oh-reh-lee (but I'm sure the second way of pronouncing it would be spent Aurélia?)

Also any suggestions for middle names & nicknames? Our surname is Clark!

I think it's beautiful. Love the diminutive Rae too. Gorgeous name.

I like it but don’t think it sounds nice in most British accents.

I'd pronounce it Or-EEL-ya. I don't like it - it looks pretty but too similar to the overused Amelia and a bit princessy.

sorry, it makes me think of nipples!! And if you're not sure how to pronounce it then you can probably assume that other people won't be able to either! Having a name that you have to constantly spell or pronounce for people really does get tiresome.

I love Aurelia. There may be some issues spelling and pronouncing it at first, but it’s shouldn’t be too difficult for people to remember. I think it’s well known enough that she wouldn’t be correcting everyone.

Love it, although she will be spelling it out forever. "I see you've written O-R-A-Y... it's A-U-R-E... yes A-U... sorry I said A-U-R-E, not R-A-Y"... etc. I know because I have a semi-unusual name (far less unusual than Aurelia) yet I have had to spell it out endlessly over the years. People will ask how to spell it, I politely, patiently and slowly spell it out and still watch them write it phonetically, it's like the brain and the hand can't connect.

I think it’s lovely. I know an Aurelia - they pronounce it Au-ree-lia

I’m not the biggest fan personally - I think it always makes me think of that slightly wet girl in Love Actually Grin. I would pronounce it as pp said and I guess Ray would be the obvious nickname.

I think it's really pretty. Would pronounce it aw-reh-lee-ah. I'm trying to think where over heard it before!

It's pronounced Or-ray-Lee-a and is a beautiful name!
