Louise or Ivy?

After narrowing down a long list of names we've decided our favourite are Louise & Ivy

What are your thoughts on each and do you have any suggestions you think we may like?

Her middle name will be Meryl for 100% as it's in honour of my late God mother who was literally an angel to my life. Surname is Colombo.

TIA & hope everyone is staying safe :)

Of the two, I prefer Louise (although I agree with an earlier commenter that I prefer Louisa).

I think that Ivy will become dated, as it has risen through the rankings incredibly quickly. It fits with a number of very popular names sonically (Evie, Ava etc.) and trend wise (Florence, Olive etc), so is very tied to the this time period. I don’t know if that bothers you, because it’s a pretty name, which has risen in popularity for a reason.

I think Ivy is lovely and flows better with your surname. Louise sounds very dated to me

@WantToBeMum we think Ivy Colombo has a lovely ring to it too. Thank you.

Ivy Meryl Colombo sounds lovely

I don't like Ivy at all.

Louise is a classic, but I think Louisa is more current. Both are very pretty names.

Louise.

Ivy is a bloody annoying plant. Grin

McMaman · 07/04/2020 10:45

Louise

Louisa sounds more modern imo...
