Avie for a girl??

What do you all think of Avie for a girl?? Does it sound made up or too different? We already have a little girl called Mia. I love the names Ava, Eva and Evie but unfortunately they are already taken by other family / friends

I don't see the point in avoiding Eva, Ava and Evie and choosing Avie instead.

All these names just blur into each other and sound the same.

Also, other people will have had the same bright idea so you might find you end up with a whole bunch of little Avies at playgroup and school.

Lolaesque · 06/04/2020 14:36

As in Ay-vee? I like it.

DottieLottie1 · 06/04/2020 14:34

I know an Averlie- she was named after her Nana who was Valerie so an anagram.

erised · 06/04/2020 14:05

Avia sounds better but I like Avie, it's cute.

MikeUniformMike · 06/04/2020 13:30

Vanessa and Wendy are made up names, and they're ok.

If you have friends and family with Evie, Eva, Ava type names, why would you name yours Avie?

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 06/04/2020 13:23

Awful. But then again all made up names are

BorrestGump · 06/04/2020 13:14

There is an Irish girls name: Aveen. Usual spelling Aoibheann sometimes pronounced E Van but I knew a girl growing up (I'm 40) who spelled it Aveen and the more popular pronunciation is Aveen.

Adiaphanous · 06/04/2020 13:01

What about Avery? She could be Avie for short.

pallasathena · 05/04/2020 22:49

How about Aimee, Alice, Anna or Amelia? Sorry, really don't like Avie...it sounds like an aviary for birds....

Smellbellina · 05/04/2020 22:47

It’s no where near as nice as Mia

Darbs76 · 05/04/2020 22:44

Definitely sounds made up.

user1493494961 · 05/04/2020 21:49

Sounds made-up.

Bezalelle · 05/04/2020 20:18

Dreadful!

Twelve8Ts · 05/04/2020 19:56

Guy on my team has a daughter Avie 😊

MrsPeytonJones · 05/04/2020 18:29

Dolly Parton's mother was called Avie Lee - I think

maudesid · 05/04/2020 18:29

I know an Avi pronounced the same as your name I like it

YakkityYakYakYak · 05/04/2020 18:26

I really like it, very pretty.

LotusClover · 05/04/2020 18:20

My first thought was that it looks like a mash up of Ava and Evie. It's nice but it does seem a bit made up.

How about Avery, that's a nice name that can be shortened to Avie.

LittlePesto · 05/04/2020 18:19

It's not a made up, I mean essentially names all are made up, but it's not made up by you. Dolly Parton's mum was called Avie. I like it
