Thinking of using Francesca Mae for DD. What do you think?

Francesca Hope is smashing. Lovely choice. Sounds classy and kind. I have to agree with other posters that Mae is unfortunately very overused, mostly by people who, inexplicably, think they’re being rather daring by choosing something so... er... unique.

Rio5555 · 08/04/2020 17:42

Very pretty. Prefer hope as a middle name to mae

Love it!

Astronica · 07/04/2020 06:10

I love Francesca. Mae and Hope both work fine. Prefer May spelling though.

aneliese · 06/04/2020 13:48

I love it and a prefer Hope too

autumnkate · 06/04/2020 13:12

Not to my taste. Sounds pretentious to me and a bit precious too. But we can’t all like the same names.

VaukaPinvhin · 05/04/2020 23:06

It’s my absolute favourite girls name. So it’s a yes from me. Regretted not calling DD it in hindsight. But am 34 years too late.

MabelChiltern1 · 05/04/2020 23:06

❤️

Neednewwellies · 05/04/2020 23:05

It’s an ok name but a bit dated I think. Frances is to my ears one of the old ladies names so is probably becoming more popular. I think Frances is pretty but Fran sounds ugly.

DramaAlpaca · 05/04/2020 23:04

I prefer Frances too. Francesca is too fussy for me. I like Hope as a middle name.

Darbs76 · 05/04/2020 23:02

I like it. The one I know is known as chess too

123Dancewithme · 05/04/2020 23:01

I also prefer Frances.

Rowdythree · 05/04/2020 18:47

I have a 10yo Francesca, she's either Francesca or Cesca... She dislikes Frankie, although that may change as she gets older. It's a beautiful name of which there are a few around but it's not overly popular. Timeless in my opinion, not dated at all Smile

Bubbletrouble43 · 05/04/2020 18:41

Love Francesca. Friends sister has that name and is shortened to Chess which I think is nice.

mamablondie · 05/04/2020 18:37

I’m going to buck the trend - I don’t like it sorry :( it’s boring and a bit dated to my ears... I much prefer Frances x

Almondsincake · 05/04/2020 16:31

Really dislike the name. Fran is horrible and cesca is harsh sounding together it's a bad combo of frilly harshness

Frankie is ok as a non Fran is just frumpy

VenusClapTrap · 05/04/2020 11:37

I really dislike Francesca, though I know it’s popular on MN. To me it’s overly frilly and clunky.

PsuedoSatisfactionBaby · 05/04/2020 08:26

Love Francesca Hope. Not keen on Mae for a middle

diddlediddle · 04/04/2020 19:07

Francesca Hope is beautiful - you've nailed it

bridgetreilly · 04/04/2020 17:58

Francesca Hope would be lovely. Good choice.

earlgreynomilk · 04/04/2020 17:57

Francesca is lovely.

Not mad on Mae either, prefer Hope too.

custodiandiscount · 04/04/2020 16:50

lovely name! I like Hope a lot too.

Sexnotgender · 04/04/2020 16:48

Hope is so much better than Mae.

Fruitloopcowabunga · 04/04/2020 16:32

Love Francesca and also Francine, beautiful names
