I like it

daffodilbrain · 04/04/2020 20:53

Horrific!!!

CollaborativeBee · 04/04/2020 20:52

It is odd how one letter can change everything.

Ben / Ken

Harry / Barry

Although to be fair, I know a lovely Barry and whatever a Barry is supposed to be like, he's not it.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 04/04/2020 20:51

Yeah go for it

CollaborativeBee · 04/04/2020 20:50

Awful.

I guess Brian will come back but it's nowhere near back yet.

I prefer Bruce to Brian. Has a bit more spark somehow. Brian is the ultimate boring name.

Like Martin. It's just so banal. It's embarrassing for everybody.

eatanazurecrayon · 04/04/2020 20:49

There's a Brian and a Paul in our P1 class. Can just imagine them down the pub in 12 years ❤️

x2boys · 04/04/2020 20:47

@TheWordmeister 😂what about Garry or Larry?

x2boys · 04/04/2020 20:45

It's my dh,s middle name ,but it was is own Dads name ,his Dad is sbout 77 now .

Peregrina · 04/04/2020 20:15

If names like Arthur and Archie can come back, why not Brian?

lalafafa · 04/04/2020 19:10

The snail

nachthexe · 04/04/2020 18:51

I literally only clicked on the thread to see how many Hull references there were. Empress, you win. Am horrified to find only one. What IS mn coming to?

Whiskersandtwitch · 04/04/2020 18:48

No

MikeUniformMike · 04/04/2020 18:47

Ryan was nice when it was quite unusual, then Ryans and Chloes were absolutely everwhere, both names seemed a bit overpopular.

Brian makes me think of Brian Aldridge, Brian May, Brian Cox. Good associations.

TheWordmeister · 04/04/2020 18:42

I don't understand the dislike - it is similar to Ryan.

In the same way that Harry is good, but Barry is very, very bad.

TheWordmeister · 04/04/2020 18:40

It would be very amusing to call a baby Brian, but no.

TheOneWithAnotherNewName · 04/04/2020 18:37

Nope! And I say that as someone with a DH and a FIL Brian. DS has it as a middle name but that's as far as I was willing to take it.

MikeUniformMike · 04/04/2020 18:35

I know some nice Garys. Gary Barlow and Gary Neville are ok (probably a bit more than OK), Gary Kemp, Gary Oldman, Gary Lineker... what's not to like?

TheSheepofWallSt · 04/04/2020 18:31

@MikeUniformMike

Also don’t like Ryan. Not sure why. Just not keen.

MikeUniformMike · 04/04/2020 18:30

I don't understand the dislike - it is similar to Ryan.

ladybird69 · 04/04/2020 00:49

No disrespect Op but please please no. I’m in my fifties and my class mates were all Brians, Kevin’s,colins,Justin’s,and Paul’s. I can remember these little shits vividly so in my experience no to the name now, maybe in another 2/3 generations it’ll come back into fashion. But on a plus point I’m going to go buy a goldfish and call him Brian, that sounds great.

PretzelVanderspling · 04/04/2020 00:46

I love the name Brian. Also Colin.

WhatWouldYouDoWhatWouldJesusDo · 04/04/2020 00:45

I know a baby Brian.

I'm sure he'll grow into it........when he's 60. Hmm

Staffori · 04/04/2020 00:43

I know too many old men called Brian to like it.

MealyPotatoes · 04/04/2020 00:29

I like it. It’s cute.

ScissorsBike · 03/04/2020 22:39

No.
