Is it naff to call a baby boy my surname

For example names like Christie, Nichol, Miller, Walker, Ellis are originally surnames and I know men with these names.

But would it be naff to call baby my maiden name? (Not one of the above).

Baby will take my DH’s surname.

PS it’s not really meant as a nod to me, it’s a family name obviously. Lots of people use family names in honour of grandparents etc, what’s the difference.

What's the name??

I think it's fine if you just coincidentally love that name more than any other.

I think it's naff if it's some sort of nod to you i.e. his whole name would be your surname and your partner's surname. He deserves to have his own name too. So maybe your surname as a middle name?
