How many Leos do you know?

Love Leo but slightly put off by the fact it’s seemingly very popular (although I don’t know any). How many (child) Leos do you know?

The others on our shortlist are Jonah, Joah and Gabriel. Which is your favourite from the four? Thanks.

One and he's not my favourite child in the world, it has to be said.

ShrimpSymphony · 29/03/2020 23:45

3 babies/toddlers and one adult

BackforGood · 29/03/2020 23:41

In my years of reading MN, I've come to the conclusion that names must be very regional.
I have (work) reason to come across the names of loads of U5s, and I can't recall coming across any Leos, so if it is top 8 in the country, it must be REALLY popular in some areas. Smile

I like Jonah best from your list.

Thisismyusernamefornow · 29/03/2020 23:33

One. Age 10.

elliejjtiny · 29/03/2020 23:21

My nearly 12 year old has quite a few Leo's in his year at school. Gabriel is my favourite of your 4. My dc3 was nearly a Gabriel.

TheFluffiestCat · 29/03/2020 23:16

I like Leo. There are 2 in DD's class(Y1), and were 2 in her nursery class. The only other one I know is about 30, the son of a work colleague. He's such a lovely young man it makes me warm to the name.

Stygimoloch · 29/03/2020 23:08

I have a Leo. I’m biased but think it’s a great name for a wonderful boy. There is one other in his school. I’m also a teacher and have taught one Leo in all my years teaching.

Blursula · 29/03/2020 23:06

@NameChange30 that’s really useful about searching by area - I didn’t know you could do that. I just looked and Leo is in the top two!

I work in a primary school with 200 children in theres 6 Leo's in the whole school.

Adelais · 29/03/2020 22:49

I know 3 Leo’s all under 6.

WhateverHappenedToBathPearls · 29/03/2020 22:42

Only one Leo. He's 2.

Don't like Gabriel and particularly hate it getting shortened to Gabe.

Jonah is nice. Joah is great but as a pp said you'd be forever correcting people who assume it was actually Jonah/Noah

MondeoFan · 29/03/2020 22:40

About 10 but I work in Early Years. Think there's better short names out there

WhenYouveAFirstInEnglish · 29/03/2020 22:37

I have one, one other in his class but I do hear it a lot when out and about.

My eldest is one of your other names! We’ve come across the occasional other one but it still feels unusual.

SallyWD · 29/03/2020 22:34

None

itsgettingweird · 29/03/2020 22:13

1 is 14yo and the other 5 months.

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 29/03/2020 22:06

Only my rabbit 😁

NameChange30 · 29/03/2020 22:05

I think Joah might get misheard as Noah (assuming they're pronounced the same) or misread as Jonah.

StormCiara · 29/03/2020 22:03

Leos that is

StormCiara · 29/03/2020 22:02

Two and they are both absolute tossers, sorry! Spoiled princes who can’t talk to women like they’re actually people. It’s weird that they’re so similar at they’re hundreds of miles and a generation apart.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 29/03/2020 22:01

2 Leos. Really like Gabriel. Joah is cool too although he would be getting do-you-mean-Jonah every time he told someone his name.

BorrestGump · 29/03/2020 21:59

I knew two Leo's who died (of old age) in the last year. I know another who is 84, and one who is in his early 70's and one who is c.50 years old. I don't think I know any younger. I am in Ireland where it is a saints name and not popular amongst young children.

Paddingtonthebear · 29/03/2020 21:57

Personally I know 3. Via work there are 9 more.

Chlandy · 29/03/2020 21:54

I know of 3 Leo's aged between 2-4! It is a very cute name tho x

Thegreymethod · 29/03/2020 21:05

One and he's mine so I obviously love it 😊
