Don’t know any Harrisons at school or nursery or baby group
Looking at the statistics it’s much less used than it used to be in 2015 so if people say they know a few it’s probably because they were born in 2015 time, there’s less now

kennyjenny · 28/03/2020 11:06

I love the name Harrison but I know a few people who don't. There's a Harris in our family

userabcname · 28/03/2020 10:58

Lots round here. I'm in the SW.

Vaginandtonic · 28/03/2020 10:56

It's pretty ubiquitous where I am (South of England). I think it's a nice name in itself, just a bit dull.

HolaWeenie · 28/03/2020 10:52

My son, and one other in his school, Essex.

I was convinced he'd be a Harry, we've never shortened it, no one outside our family have ever shortened it either.

HalfTermHalfTerm · 28/03/2020 10:46

Only one (worked in schools for the last 4 years) but he went by Harry and didn’t like being called Harrison. I’m in East Anglia.

Mooncake2020 · 28/03/2020 10:43

@Rachelhaydenberk1 I feel the same! I love Harrison but not the biggest fan of Harry as a NN. I like Harris as a NN though x

@Showmeyourhero Where are you located? Xx

Wannabegreenfingers · 28/03/2020 08:17

It's my sons middle name. We haven't met anyone else with the name x

PlantPotting · 28/03/2020 08:17

If you look at the official statistics @Mooncake2020 the number of babies called Harrison has been declining year on year consistently since 2015. So there will be even less Harrison’s by 2020. It’s much less used than it used to be 5 years ago

PlantPotting · 28/03/2020 08:14

I don’t know anyone with this name and I go to a lot of baby groups

Showmeyourhero · 28/03/2020 07:45

DS4 has 6 friends named Harrison, it's very very popular in my opinion!

Threelionsandalioness · 28/03/2020 07:34

My son, he is 12 we live in Hampshire and we've not met another Harrison in 12 years

Ughmaybenot · 28/03/2020 07:31

I know a three, albeit one lives in North Carolina. The two near me are both under 5, south west.

Weird side note @AlliKaneSon I read your post in a welsh accent (in my head of course!) before reading hat you were welsh, normally I just read posts in my normal head-voice. How weird is that?

TwoKnocks · 28/03/2020 07:28

There are three in my son’s class of 27 children. Midlands.

VenusClapTrap · 28/03/2020 07:27

One. SE.

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 28/03/2020 04:15

My son. He’s 8. We’re in Canada. I know of one other Harrison in the city. He’s a couple of years younger.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 28/03/2020 04:02

6 I’m a teacher though. Yorkshire

newatbabystuff · 28/03/2020 02:37

I have a Harrison - I think there’s one other at nursery about 3 years older. We never call him Harry, not on purpose really we just haven’t used a nickname at all yet. We know about 6 boys called Harris all born last year.

we’re in scotland

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 28/03/2020 02:21

Oh I'm in the states and it is not popular here at all. Harry and Harrison really are not very common here. It must remind people of Harrison Ford.

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 28/03/2020 02:19

I like Harrison but not keen on Harry as a nickname. Weird how I can like the full version but not the nickname right! Harrison is handsome but Harry makes my skin crawl for some reason. I think for all the long versions of Harry, Harrison is the best! If Harry wasnt the inevitable nickname, I would have Harrison on my list!

NuffSaidSam · 28/03/2020 01:33

I know of a few, maybe 4 or 5.

London.
