As first names *

pineapplications · 02/05/2022 18:12

One. I also know of a baby Grayson. I think surnames are most commonly used as surnames in America.

zigaziga · 29/03/2020 09:41

No babies but a number of them aged 3,4,5.

London

AlliKaneSon · 29/03/2020 09:28

Would you say the same for names like James or Thomas, which are more more commonly used surnames, alexdgr8? It started off as ‘son of Harry’, so its origins were in a first names, kjust like Jackson or Robinson.

WanderingTrolley1 · 29/03/2020 02:03

I know 2 Harrisons. In West Midlands.

alexdgr8 · 29/03/2020 00:59

i cannot see the attraction for using a surname as a first name.
to me it sounds impersonal.
might as well call them higginbottom, or shufflewick. why not.

Smellbellina · 29/03/2020 00:53

Was going to choose this for DD if a boy, but was v popular at the time, that was 6/7 years ago

MusicTeacherSussex · 29/03/2020 00:53

One twenty something. West Sussex of course

NC4Now · 29/03/2020 00:52

I know about four or five, all primary school age or younger. I’m in the north west, upper working/lower middle class.

Hereforthenamethreads · 29/03/2020 00:49

I like Harry. Harry is a nice name.

EugenesAxe · 29/03/2020 00:47

I know one known as Harry; South East.

Haribo reminds me of Harrybo from the Michael Rosen poems Smile. Apparently Harrison was the surname of this friend though.

Mooncake2020 · 29/03/2020 00:38

Ughmaybenot that is weird!!

Whatsyourflava · 28/03/2020 18:00

I agree @Rachelhaydenberk1 - it’s such a cool name. If you prefer Harris rather than Harry you can let his school and preschool know. They’re really good these days with trying to encourage a particular nickname - they never did this in my day

paperandfireworks · 28/03/2020 17:08

I know of 6/7 oldest being 13, youngest is 3.

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 28/03/2020 14:42

You're inspiring me to add Harrison to my list!! I wonder if you can get people to call him Harris as a nickname versus Harry. I think it's so handsome! What will the middle name be?
