Hello, a bit of a different post with all the chaos right now but trying to take my mind off it by deciding dd (due next month) name. Pretty much decided on indie ( although if you hate it do say so and why!!). I’m struggling to decide on a middle name- I want something cute and one syllable I think, so far i like Rose, Grace and Skye. Which do you prefer and why?/ any other suggestions?
Thanks 😊

Navy?

Indie Blythe

missmouse101 · 29/03/2020 02:40

Rose, May and Grace are done to death, dull as ditchwater and used for a huge percentage of children (my own included and I deeply regret it.) India is a lovely name with Indie as a nickname. How about Cleo, Laurel, Fern, Tamsin?

@patriciabateman I love the name indie but your comment had me howling 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

MikeUniformMike · 28/03/2020 21:20

It's Prudence.

Indie Justine sounds too much like Indigestion.

Not Indie Lee/Leigh please. It's a previously overused mn.

Here are some I came up with also I hope this is helpful for picking out names for any other babies you might have in the future if you need them!

  1. Lee
2.Grace 3.Rose 4.Belle or Bella 5.Sage
  1. Violeta
  2. Celeste
  3. Prue (it’s a nickname (I guess you could call it Grin ) for the name Pruedence)
Good luck with your baby I hope this helps you find the perfect name for your little one!

I hate the whole grace/rose/mae. Every other girl has one of these names. I think a two syllable traditional name would off set the ridicule of some posters. Indie Catherine or indie Roseanne.

AJTracey · 28/03/2020 19:44

Id go for Indigo or India personally then use Indie. As i was an indie kid back in the day Grin

sibbys · 28/03/2020 19:41

Wow, Indie is such a lovely name for a girl! I live in Denmark, so I don't know anyone with this name. To me it sounds very feminine.

june2007 · 28/03/2020 19:37

Better with an e at the end..

MikeUniformMike · 28/03/2020 19:34

Given that the baby is due in April, might April be a bit better than Mae/May?
Mae is a bit downmarket.
Rose and Mae/May are filler middle names - a bit meh.
Indi as a spelling is a but too much.

Crazynurse98 · 28/03/2020 18:13

Think I’ve narrowed it down to indie rose and indie mae. Which do you prefer? Also do you think the spelling indi is better or to stick with indie? Thanks😊xx

I prefer Indigo as the full name, otherwise it's very masculine. Indie is what we call the city Indianapolis in the states so I cant not make that association. I think of the Indy 500. But I love certain names that are weird place names somewhere else so I get it and wont judge! But I do think Indigo nn Indie is much prettier! Indue alone would need a very feminine middle name.

Indie Dahlia
Indie Louisa
Indie Rachelle
Indie Michaela
Indie Veronica
Indie Valentine
Indie Aletta
Indie Nicoletta
Indie Madeleine
Indie Francesca
Indie Evangelina
Indie Angelina
Indie Ophelia
Indie Julianna
Indie Marianna
Indie Leona
Indie Diana
Indie Emmeline
Indie Carolina
Indie Jessamine
Indie Loretta
Indie Alicia

Indie Kate is brilliant!

Whatsyourflava · 28/03/2020 13:42

Roseanne? Roxanna ?

Whatsyourflava · 28/03/2020 13:42

Just wanted to say LOVE the name Indie - one of my favourites

Middle name

Martha or Margot or Margaret or Clementine or Cora or Cleo?

PoorlyWeasels · 28/03/2020 12:33

I would be inclined to go with India or Indiana as the actual name, with Indie as the nickname. Gives you more scope for the middle name.

Rose as a middle name has become ubiquitous and the new Jane or Ann or Louise. Grace and Skye both sound stupid with Indie because they make a word. Whereas India Grace is pretty.

India Tess
India Pearl
Indiana Star
Indiana Claire

That was to Patricia

Assuming you’re not already a comedienne you should be on the bleeding stage. GrinGrinGrin

RuPaula · 28/03/2020 11:58

I think I’d go with a longer middle name because a lot of one syllable names do sound like ‘a thing’ or a word. Also a PP suggested Beau, that’s a boys name.
Maybe Matilda, Annabel, Jessica, Sophia?

PatriciaBateman · 28/03/2020 00:06
