Kizette for girl

Symes · 27/03/2020 16:35

My wife is 14 weeks pregnant.

Don't know gender yet but I have been thinking of M and F names.

One that has stuck out in my mind is 'Kizette'. Maybe 'Kiz' for short.

I think something a little unique would be good for my kid but I don't want it to be weird. Some outsider perspective would be good.

I have done some Googling and it seems as if there is literally only one other person who's had that name before.

The first holiday my wife and I went on was to Paris. We went to the George Pompidou Centre which has a lot of modern art, including stuff by an artist called Tamara de Lempicka. She had a daughter called Kizette. Tamara de Lempicka isn't my favourite artist but I knew her paintings and was surprised and pleased when I found the originals, and I guess seeing them in Paris sparked my interest in art and art history.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

The heroine of my favourite childhood book 'The Diddakoi' was named Kezia, nn Kizzy.

Imho that's the only acceptable route you could take.

limpbizkit · 27/03/2020 17:37

Oops just realised you may be in a same sex marriage. Apologies if that's the case Blush

TheWordmeister · 27/03/2020 17:37

Another one who thought it’s a brand name for a contraceptive.

limpbizkit · 27/03/2020 17:36

It sounds like 'gazette' to me. You know you'll get an extra hard bashing on here because you're a man don't you?

whymewhyme · 27/03/2020 17:36

Why on earth would you call a child that!

Pentium85 · 27/03/2020 17:35

Why oh why

Like a cassette tape

Cassette nn. Cassie.

If you like Kizette, you could use it.

Kizzy is better.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 27/03/2020 17:02

Kizette better!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 27/03/2020 17:01

Contraceptive pill is what first sprang to mind as well.

Sally872 · 27/03/2020 17:00

Lovd Cosette, or Kiz even Kizzy as nick names. Not a fan of Kizette.

Not so weird I would be shocked by it, or comment if you weren't asking for opinions. But I don't like it.

ByAppointmentTo · 27/03/2020 17:00

No, don't do it. Your child will never forgive you.

Soontobe60 · 27/03/2020 17:00

Sounds too much like kiss it!

Elieza · 27/03/2020 16:59

Kizzy is nice but spell checker wants to change it to Lizzie!

NastyOldBag · 27/03/2020 16:59

It sounds like a brand of razors. I’m not sure I follow your guide of wanting something ‘a little unique’ Confused.

Meltedwellie · 27/03/2020 16:59

In real life I would have to say to you, oh, yes that’s unusual isn’t it? But if you want the truth, it’s awful, don’t do it to your child.

user1493494961 · 27/03/2020 16:57

Beyond awful.

Marcipex · 27/03/2020 16:56

Kizzy is nice. Lisette is nice.

LimpidPools · 27/03/2020 16:55

I thought contraception pill. Sorry.

Kismet is not a good alternative either.

AdoptedBumpkin · 27/03/2020 16:54

Hmm, not one I would consider, but each to their own.

Mrsfrumble · 27/03/2020 16:52

What about Kismet? It’s Turkish and means destiny. Kiz or Kizzy would work well as nicknames.

Carrie7469 · 27/03/2020 16:51

No, no, no. It's not even a name. I'm sorry, but it's dreadful

Aerielview · 27/03/2020 16:47

Sounds like 'cassette' to me

TeaMilkNoSugarThanks · 27/03/2020 16:47

All of the above.

Plus being very easily Googleable isn't always a good thing.

CassieAuLait · 27/03/2020 16:47

Keziah is nice.

As is Kitty.
