Can’t decide on a baby name for my 2 week old son HELP

So my baby boy is 2 weeks old today and I still haven’t decided on a name for him. I feel so awful referring to him as “the baby” all the time! 😖

My shortlist is:

Azai - which I love as it means strength and it’s very unique but it just doesn’t really suit him.

Zac - (short for Zachary) which does suit him, but I just don’t love the name and feel like it’s a bit common. I know 3 Zac’s already.
Cruz - also suits him but sounds a bit made up with no real meaning. Again I’m not entirely sold.

I really want a name that is unique/unusual. Something different like Axl, but his brother on his dads side already has this name.

If anyone has any suggestions they’d be greatly appreciated! 😬

Asa is good.

Zac is really overused, sorry! Though nice.

Cruz is a girl's name.
Zac is great but it is very popular and will get spelt Zac, Zack, Zach and Zak. He will be Zac A. or Zac B. or something.

I have commented on another thread that I would choose Asa nn Ace.

How about Roan (rhymes with bone) or Rory?

paddler78 · 21/03/2020 19:23

If you like Zac but not do keen on Zachary how about Izaac or Zac as a shortened version

sixtimes · 21/03/2020 19:19

Nico/Neco

NameChange30 · 21/03/2020 18:59

Ivo!
I really love the name. Not going to use it either (just found out I'm having a girl!) so you can have it if you want Grin

Ayrton (associated with a Brazilian F1 driver of course but it’s actually an old Scottish surname).

@s3tut0y3r oh yes.

Or Mark
Robert
Christopher

Not Cruz - means Jesus' cross

And also Cruz Beckham

I really like Zac. It's cool. Doesn't matter that it is popular if you like it.

If you really like Azai why not just do it. He is 2 weeks old, he may not suit it now (but does a newborn suit any name?) But when he grows it will just be his name and he will have a name you love.

s3tut0y3r · 21/03/2020 18:02

If you want an uncommon rather than unusual name, why not go for something that has fallen out of use these days. What about Dominic or Stephen

Jossina · 21/03/2020 17:54

Some great non-common names:
Edgar
Ludovic

Constantine
Giles
Felix
Rollo
Jago
Caradoc
Torquil
Tarquin
Sholto
Aloysius
Amos

Ones with good nicknames:

Christopher nn Kit
Wilf(red) nn Wilf
Barnaby nn Barns or Barney
Nathan/Nathaniel nn Nate

Sidney nn Sid

Other ideas:
