It's very 80s. I personally dont like names that end in -any/anie like Brittany or Stephanie and Tiffany is in that bucket. It's just not my taste personally but if you love it, then no reason not to use it! It's not going to be common these days I wouldn't think so that is a plus :)

Unfortunate · 24/03/2020 23:07

I quite like it and as others said, probably due a revival at some point.

I associate with the names Felicity and Penelope for some reason, if you wanted some alternative ideas not that you asked

HowIrresponsible · 24/03/2020 19:39

Down market?

Breakfast at Tiffany's

The jewellery brand

KatherineJaneway · 24/03/2020 06:06

I think we're alone now 🎶

BoggiesBonnieBelle · 24/03/2020 06:04

I think it sounds pretty, but I've now got "I think we're alone now" going through my head. School friends wouldn't make that connection though.

Robyn578 · 23/03/2020 14:09

Not for me.. Makes me think of Biancas daughter in eastenders

KittyJune · 22/03/2020 10:01

I would think of either a) a bleach blonde playboy bunny 2) a stripper 3) American ‘trailer trash’ type 4) Eastenders. None of these are positive connotations for me!

s3tut0y3r · 22/03/2020 08:01

It's a pretty name. There is also a variant spelling Tiffanie

robin04031402 · 15/03/2020 20:09

If you like it OP then go for it!
You will never find a name that everyone likes!
Life is too short

Itwasntme1 · 15/03/2020 18:50

I am not fond of names that evoke strong associations - Tiffany, Samantha, Kylie, Rhiana, Britney etc.

But if you like it, go for it.

Whydoesit · 15/03/2020 06:56

I do think Trump, but people won’t do in 10 years time.

I don’t mind Tiffany but I do like the nickname Tiff but seems I’m the odd one out there!

Flymetothestars · 14/03/2020 12:39

It’s ok. There was a Tiffany in Made in Chelsea. I always thought her sister Lucy got a much nicer name though.

allthedamnvampires · 14/03/2020 11:44

It'll be shortened to Fanny

florababy84 · 14/03/2020 11:36

An alternative version, also from the middle ages, is Tiphaine. Which I think is lovely.*

Oh God can you imagine the uproar if someone posted on Mumsnet, "I'm thinking of calling my new baby Tiffany, spelled Tiphaine, WDYT?"

I have to say in and of itself, it is a really pretty name but it has negative associations now, as PPs have said.

LadyEloise · 14/03/2020 08:59

Also why would you call a child after a jewellery shop.
As someone said upthread at least it's not Argos.Smile

If you love it go for it.

Isthistrueor · 14/03/2020 08:49

Horrible. Went to school with one, huge chav.

LadyEloise · 14/03/2020 08:40

I just think Donald Trump.
He has a Tiffany ( with Marla Msples )
Anything that reminds me of Donald Trump is a no.

Bezalelle · 14/03/2020 08:33

Really pretty and due a revival. The French Tiphaine is also really nice.

dancingbadger · 14/03/2020 08:12

I like it. The only Tiffany I've met was actually really quite posh spoke 4 languages and very elegant so I suppose it depends on who you've met and the connotations with them.

waltzingparrot · 14/03/2020 08:03

I know of one that got nicknamed
tit-fanny

pilates · 14/03/2020 04:28

Awful

SubordinateThatClause · 14/03/2020 04:11

Very Eastenders

ElizabethMainwaring · 14/03/2020 03:44

She was run over by Frank Butcher!

ElizabethMainwaring · 14/03/2020 03:38

@happymummy12345
Tiffany was played by Martine McCutcheon. It was in the 90s. I think she was killed off in an accident.

Megan2018 · 14/03/2020 02:55

Instantly think of Eastenders. Definitely not due a comeback yet
