I know one, spelt with a K. I'm not keen on the name though

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 14/03/2020 15:49

Caleb is a lovely name. Please use this the correct spelling, though. 'Kaleb' is probably a Kardashian.

KatherineJaneway · 14/03/2020 15:47

Caleb with a C not a K.

KittyJune · 14/03/2020 15:38

It’s Caleb

Bezalelle · 14/03/2020 08:32

Caleb, if you must. The "leb" part is really ugly though. Not a pleasant-sounding name.

Flymetothestars · 14/03/2020 07:51

I love Caleb
Love the sound of the name and that it’s got a lot of history behind it. Haven’t met anyone with the name

YgritteSnow · 14/03/2020 00:31

That's like saying no religious names should be used unless you are naming a preacher

No it isn't. That's not what I am saying at all.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 13/03/2020 22:34

I love it. Caleb.

usuredo · 13/03/2020 22:32

Caleb. Love it, great solid name- not unusual but not overused.

lamppostdog · 13/03/2020 22:30

It was my granddad's name and is my sons middle name

percheron67 · 13/03/2020 22:28

Caleb. Unless your surname is Kardashian.

Mooncake2020 · 13/03/2020 22:20

@YgritteSnow That's like saying no religious names should be used unless you are naming a preacher 😂

YgritteSnow · 13/03/2020 21:39

Neither unless you're naming a future evangelical preacher from the Deep South.

Bouncingbelle · 13/03/2020 21:36

Caleb. I think its lovely, biblical, but modern sounding, known but not over used.

BikeRunSki · 13/03/2020 20:58

Caleb

I know 2, age 10 and 5, and a Kaleb, age 11.

Ninkanink · 13/03/2020 20:48

No I don’t believe it’s ‘downmarket’ - it’s a biblical name.

OneMoreForExtra · 13/03/2020 20:47

Kebab

Would always have to pause before saying the name to mentally reset from Kebab to Caleb. Once thought it's hard to unthink

Mooncake2020 · 13/03/2020 20:24

Is it actually seen as "downmarket" as Mikeuniformmike says? It's currently rank 50 in the name charts, seems quite far out for it to be seen like that? This is my first, so i don't know much about names x

Double3xposure · 13/03/2020 17:40

Caleb

PlantPotting · 13/03/2020 17:37

Good decision @Tifsy

Caleb is definitely better

Thefaceofboe · 13/03/2020 17:36

Love Caleb and would be on my list. I don’t know any in RL and work with children, never come across one!

MikeUniformMike · 13/03/2020 16:52

There was/is a rock star who uses the name as his first name (I think it isn't his real first name and that it was someone like Kings of Leon or that era) and that boosted it's popularity.
I like the name and had planned to use it, or Calb, for a DDog, but some have grouped if with the Kayden type names and it is seen as slightly downmarket.

emmathedilemma · 13/03/2020 16:02

I know of couple (friends nephews type of “know”) but none personally. I think it was maybe more popular 10 years ago or so.

Tifsy · 13/03/2020 15:07

Thanks everyone, with a C it is! x
