What are her brothers called?

Or if you have a Margot what were your boy names?

We have a Margot and now need a boys name but can't find anything we love.

We're considering;

Raphael
Rafe
Barnaby

Names we like but can't use;

Jasper
Casper
Toby
Chester
Rafferty

Otis or Barnaby are brilliant names that I’ve always liked. Always surprised Barnaby isnt more common, it’s very underused. @Namemybaby @pinkpeoniesplease
My baby daughter is called Rowan and agree with PP that it does continually get merged with Roman especially as there’s 2 Roman’s at our small local nursery. My daughter is now known as “Rowan with a W”- Not quite what I had anticipated when I chose the name, but admittedly I never came on here and asked advice so I hadn’t appreciated about Roman being fastest rising name. I know about it now 😂
How about
Tristan
Caleb
Austin
Asher/Ash
Christopher Kit
Sidney Sid
Eric
Ellis
Vincent
Joel
Ray
Bill

@pinkpeoniesplease love Margot and Barnaby !
Otis would be a great choice too - adore that! With Rowan it’s not so much the popularity that puts me off rather than the similarity to other very popular names like Roman, Roan and Rohan. RoMan with an M is the current top fastest rising name, there’s 2 in my Nct group. I find them all very samey. Rowan seems to be slowly becoming the female version of the name, top 100 name for girls in Scotland doesn’t feature on the boy lists.
I have an 80s populr name that was very similar to another very popular name (think along the lines Laura and Lauren) and people mixing up the names used to drive me mad xx

How about Rudy? Rupert? Miles? Peter?

Notquiteagandt · 26/03/2020 09:21

I have a margot. My boys names where walter, austin, jago, saul,

s3tut0y3r · 21/03/2020 19:33

Edward or Joseph

TheRealMummyPig · 21/03/2020 05:09

We know a Margot with a brother called Archie

pinkpeoniesplease · 21/03/2020 04:58

Thanks all for your suggestions!

I actually like Rowan and Otis... We have friends with a Rowan and I am aware of it's popularity although that doesn't necessarily put me off...

Emthebaker · 21/03/2020 02:42

As you have Toby & Margot, I’d actually be inclined to lean into the ‘O’ sound, for example

Toby, Margot & Otis
Toby, Margot & Oakley
Toby, Margot & Rowan
Toby, Margot & Joseph
Toby, Margot & Noah
Toby, Margot & Jonah

I think it ties them all together nicely :)

LulusMiniEgg · 18/03/2020 21:53

There are twins at my DS school called Margot & Arthur

Poppydaisies · 18/03/2020 21:52

We know siblings Margot and Quentin.

Yes Caspian was on the list but not sure my husband was keen, also had Cassian and Cassius.*

If you like Cas names what about Casimir?

MyNameHasBeenTaken · 18/03/2020 16:33

The one I know has an older brother called hugo

littlejalapeno · 18/03/2020 11:13

Ron
Emile
Laurence
Jeremy
Frank

Whydoesit · 18/03/2020 11:10

Yes you’ve got to add the entries for Christopher if you’re trying to see how popular Kit is.

Newname88 · 18/03/2020 11:06

Just replying to the bit where you've said you like cass names. While i was pregnant and looking for names i thought about Castiel (i watch alot of supernatural lol) in the end i had a DD but still love the name. No more children for me so im thinking it might end up a pets name somewhere down the line....

Whatsyourflava · 17/03/2020 09:49

I personally would avoid Raif Rafe Rafferty Raphael if you’re concerned about popularity . Each name on its own is pretty unusual but all added together I do know quite a few Raffy’s locally x

annabell22 · 17/03/2020 09:43

Margot sounds very 1930s to me, so Laurie goes really well.

I had forgotten until this thread that it was Anne Frank's sister's name.

I would avoid Hugo, Milo etc - too many final o's in one group of siblings.

Kitkatkatnap · 17/03/2020 09:38

I think Laurie and Margot sound delightful together!

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 17/03/2020 09:36

I’ve always liked Loomis for a boy. Out there.

Like Barnaby it’s great!
Jago
Felix
Caspar
Rafe
Wilfred

Standrewsschool · 17/03/2020 09:34

Although I do prefer kit to Christopher

Standrewsschool · 17/03/2020 09:34

Kit for me is a nickname of Christopher, rather than a name in its own right.

Whatsyourflava · 16/03/2020 23:57

@Namemybaby Kit is getting more popular but that’s relatively speaking as it’s still pretty unusual . It was Number 193 in the charts in 2018 (the most recent year we have stats for) and accounting for 0.042% of all babies

I love it!

Standrewsschool · 16/03/2020 23:52

Lysander
Rupert
Hugo
Alexander
Tristan

Also liking Barnaby

Yes Caspian was on the list but not sure my husband was keen, also had Cassian and Cassius.
We have a Toby already! This is baby number three...

I still like the Cass names, Barnaby and Raife/Rafe/Raphael but feel like I don't LOVE any of them...

I like Kit but think it's quite popular now?

Interesting to see which names people feel go with Margot, lots of names I like or names of friends children. Some surprises, like Rocco!

Can you use Caspian instead of Casper?

TigerBilly · 16/03/2020 23:01

Ralph?
