Naomi is a gorgeous name.

I wanted to use it for my DD but my boss at work is Naomi so it felt too weird.

I prefer Naomi (nay-oh-me). Don't like it pronounced Nigh-oh-me as much.

It's a name most people have heard of but isn't overused.

Emily is nice too, but more commonly used.

Depends if you're aiming for a more or less popular name or not.

Emily is so so boring from overuse during the past 10 or so years. It will soon start to sound a little dated imo.

Naomi is beautiful. I know a naomi and shes down to earth caring and beautiful. I know names dont form characteristics but I also know an emily and it's often shortened to em, she's not so nice.
I think names always remind me of someone I know.

Some people may say that Emily is boring, as it has been popular for decades. But it is a very pretty, classic name. That would be my choice.

I do quite like Naomi though - nothing wrong with it.

Emily is far more popular. Naomi can be mispronounced.

I like them both! You need to decide how important it is that your child is the only one of that name in a class or whether different pronunciations will irritate you!
