Thoughts please, we have whittled it down to Tilly and Emma, what do you prefer?

Emma.
Tilly is a nickname and Matilda and personally I don’t like it.

DoctorBambino · 29/02/2020 19:51

I prefer Tilly, but then I can't quite picture a 50 something Tilly

Thegingerpig · 29/02/2020 19:50

Definitely Emma.

DramaAlpaca · 29/02/2020 19:47

Emma is my favourite girls' name.

Tilly is OK as a diminutive of Matilda, but too twee on its own.

MikeUniformMike · 29/02/2020 19:43

Emma
Tilly makes me think of a cash till.

Tilly, if it's a shortening for Matilda, not as a standalone name. Emma is nice.

NoSauce · 29/02/2020 19:25

Matilda then Tilly as a nn.

emmathedilemma · 29/02/2020 19:23

Emma is a great name ;)
If I wanted Tilly I’d use Matilda as her full name. Emma Matilda isn’t too bad depending on your surname.

ScarlettBlaize · 29/02/2020 19:22

Tilly as theres less of them.

There is a reason for that.

ErrrNo · 29/02/2020 19:21

Emma

Quizeerascal · 29/02/2020 19:19

Emma is a lovely, classic name. Tilly is a cute name but I feel like it needs something longer to grow up with perhaps Matilda

Raera · 29/02/2020 19:17

Emma

PlantPotting · 29/02/2020 19:17

Love both names
Think I prefer the classic simplicity of Emma

Hulabalula · 29/02/2020 19:12

Emma for sure. Beautiful name.

Emmapeeler1 · 29/02/2020 19:12

I would call a Tilly Matilda, personally.

Both were on my shortlist for DC2 (who was a boy!). So I like either.

RainbowFlowers · 29/02/2020 19:00

Tilly as theres less of them.

HoHoHolyCow · 29/02/2020 19:00

Emma

cptartapp · 29/02/2020 18:58

Emma by a country mile.
Tilly sounds like an abbreviation, infantile, in the same vein as all the Millie's, Mollies, Ellies, Poppys etc.

ZsaZsaMc · 29/02/2020 18:58

Emma

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/02/2020 18:52

I think Emma will carry her better through life.
