Boys Names dilemma!

I have a week and a half left to register my baby boy but really struggling with a name!
Both our surnames end in y and although I'm not sure if we will use 1 or double barrel, I think a name ending in y might be too much!

The only names I have are Ace or Finn!

I like unusual names but don't want too obscure and 1s you can't pronounce!
Do you like either of my ideas or any other suggestions?! Thanks!

I like Ace and Finn. Think Ace is more interesting and would choose that out of the two.

SilverOtter · 26/02/2020 18:41

I have a Corin🙂

Banya400 · 26/02/2020 18:40

Like:

Finn

Just go for that. Baby will grow into the name. I did not love one of my boys names when we gave it to him but couldn't imagine him being called anything else now.

Also do love:

Jet,

Though.....

I like Finn but there are a lot of them springing up if that’s an issue.
I’m not keen on Ace at all.

Other ideas:
Asa
Ira
Felix
Miles
Morgan
Dashiel (nn Dash)

NameChange30 · 26/02/2020 18:36

PP I also like PP's suggestion of Kit

NameChange30 · 26/02/2020 18:35

Whatever you do, make sure you give your child your surname, with or without your partner's surname added.

If you want to include both surnames but don't want to double barrel, could the names be combined or blended in some way?

I think surname is the most important choice because that can't be changed (or at least not easily) whereas the first name can easily be changed in the first year.

I like Ace and Finn, I think Finn is quite popular though, so I would pick Ace.

If you want other ideas, what about...
Cole
Ivo
Max
Saul
Tate

I have a George and Teddy so won't suggest mine as they're not unusual!
I like Finn, there's one at DS school who is sweet so I see it as a lovely name.
My DD has boys in her class called Arlen and Archer- both a bit more unusual options.

Jeff 😂 *Jett

I like Finn. Ace is brave, but I don’t dislike it.

Kit
Tom
Josh
Flynn
Otto
Ivan

rosieposies · 26/02/2020 18:28

Think they're both great names.

Caleb, Elliot, Beau, Dax, Jeff, Grey

Grufallosfriends · 26/02/2020 18:28

Finn is nice but quite popular. How about Flynn or Quinn?
