Having a c-section tomorrow. Non ID twin girls. Have narrowed it down to the following:

Nina and Ella
Nina and Anna - our favourite two names but are they too similar?
Nina and Frida
Nina and Rosa

Nina is non-negotiable as it is very significant to us.

Placemarking to see the final outcome! As long as the twins don’t know that you picked one to have a special name of significance to you and then the other twin just got a name to “go” with it.

I think Nina and Anna are lovely whether you use them as they are or as nicknames.

Nonnymum · 27/02/2020 15:57

If Nina and Anna are your favourites then just go for them. They are not too. Similar.
Congratulatuons!

StSaulOfSnacks · 27/02/2020 15:56

Nina and Rosa. The rest are too similar to Nina.

Twooter · 27/02/2020 15:54

I’m also interested in freddiethegreat’s question. I would be tempted to call them Anna Nina and Rosa Nina rather than Give one a hugely significant name and the other one a name to match the first.

Like all the names except frida

bluemoon2468 · 27/02/2020 15:41

Nina and Rosa go really well together 😊

Whatsyourflava · 27/02/2020 07:50

Why give them long names they won’t even use? It’ll just make things complicated. Your names youve selected are so lovely and simple and classic, I felt a bit sad seeing your updated message. Wouldn’t Christina for example be more likely to get called “Chris” or “Tina” — theres no Nina within the name. Hope all goes well today x

Poetryinaction · 27/02/2020 07:38

I know sisters Nina and Rosa. Their mum is Anna. I like the name Anna best and think it's fine with Nina. But Nina and Rosa does 'go' better.

fromagefreak · 27/02/2020 07:20

Nina and Rosa is a beautiful combination.

Cbeebiesrehab · 27/02/2020 07:17

Rosanna would mean she could be Rosa or Anna. I wouldn’t lengthen Nina personally, it’s nice as it is.

Onthehamsterwheel · 27/02/2020 07:13

Rosanna Elizabeth
Nina Josephine
They don’t both need a longer version too.

HeadLikeAFuckinOrange · 27/02/2020 02:31

Valentina and Rosanna!

Nina and Anna for short to use every day. Smile

Good luck with their birth today OP!

MyNameIsAlexDrake · 27/02/2020 01:47

Nina and Rosa sound lovely together.
Anna is also nice though a bit similar to Nina, it's not too similar.

Good luck with the birth, hope all goes well x

lemontreebird · 27/02/2020 01:34

Nina and Anna - too difficult to say easily and frequently.
Nina and Frida - don't like the repeated 'i' sound.
Nina and Rosa are delightful. Nicely different to each other.

BikeRunSki · 27/02/2020 01:27

Nina and Frida are too similar. Nina and Anna is lovely.

OnNaturesCourse · 27/02/2020 01:25

Nina and Anna / Rosa. Anna being my favourite. Good luck!

Chocmallows · 27/02/2020 01:17

Rosanna and Janina

cobwebsoncornices · 27/02/2020 01:11

I do think Nina and Anna are a bit of a mouthful together but Anna and Nina isn't. That would mean that one would be the eldest and come first alphabetically.

If you did Georgina Elizabeth (Nina) and Rosanna Josephine (Anna) then you solve that problem.

honey7 · 27/02/2020 00:38

Nina and Rosa

Newname4now · 26/02/2020 23:53

Roseanna Josephine
And Valentina Elizabth, gorgeous

Shortdebate · 26/02/2020 23:48

This thread has made us think about using longer versions of Anna and Nina. Crazy this hasn’t occurred to us in the last 8 months!

If we do this they will be known as Nina and Anna but will have longer names they can use if they wish.

For Anna we like Roseanna. Trouble is we are less clear which longer name we like for Nina. Maybe Valentina or Christina.

Or we will just go with Anna and Nina.

Middle names will be Josephine and Elizabeth both of which are grandmothers’ names.

I wanted my name to be Nina (still love it). I'd have been gutted to be called Frida.

porple · 26/02/2020 23:12

Nina and Anna

Letthemysterybe · 26/02/2020 23:10

Re Nina and Anna being too similar, I would be sorely tempted to get your OH to stand at the other end of the house and practice shouting them to each other to see if you can hear the difference 🤣 if you can then I vote they are not too similar!*

If she does that, she’ll sound like an ambulance!!

MyDcAreMarvel · 26/02/2020 23:06

Nina and Anna

123Dancewithme · 26/02/2020 23:05
