I'm expecting a second child and struggling with name ideas. Not sure of the gender yet but would like something unique that you don't find often. My husband is a botanist which is why we called our daughter Sequoiadendron (Sequoia for short!) and we're looking for something similar that's plant related.
Thanks in advance for the help fellow mums!! :)

I'm a physiotherapist, so mine are called Scaphoid (NN Scaff) and Pisiform (NN Pi).
DH was working in TV and film at the time wanted to call them Bafta and Emmy, but they were boys, so I won.

You seem to like trees....
Araucaria araucana could perhaps work for both?
(Monkey Puzzle Tree)

I know a sequoia! I think it's nice. Pretty sure she's not got the dendron bit tho

Oak or Fig for boy
Or you could go for Everest because you've already got the biggest tree, might as well do a mountain

BarbaraofSeville · 25/02/2020 12:07

I don't know, Nigel is probably one of those names that's ripe for a comeback.

Call a baby boy Nigel and next thing you know, they'll either be in a class full of Nigels, or at the very least, that's what all their younger brothers will be called.

VideographybyLouBloom · 25/02/2020 12:04

You need to go really 'out there' and call him Nigel.

I'm so sorry we didn't see this before having our two, as we would definitely have called them Sassy (NN Sas) and Rory (NN R).
