How did you know your name was right?

I had my baby earlier this week a little earlier than planned. Me and my DP had previously discussed names - identifying a short list. Since our baby has been born we've been using one of the shortlist with friends and family. However I'm still unsure about whether it is 'her' name.

I think my concern stems from the fact that the name we are currently using is a top 20 name and I'd always imagined if I'd had a daughter that she would have an 'usual but not completely out there' name (if not actually identifying a candidate). I think mentally I'd planned to use the 2 months extra I thought I had pregnant to continue to think about her name.

Since I can't decide if I'm being silly or not I thought I'd ask how did you know that you had picked the 'right' name for your baby, particularly if you had concern initially?

Secondly, if anyone has any ideas about an 'unusual but not completely out there name' send them my way!

Don't worry about picking an "unusual but not completely out there" name - they tend to fluctuate in and out anyway but do choose something you like.

To be honest, sometimes I hear a name and think I wish I'd used that but it's a fleeting thing. Mine are 7 and 14 and for their names fine!

Girls names I liked;
Amber
Alyssa
Allanah
Beth
Becca
Cara
Cassie
Erin
Francesca
Hanna
Leah
Zoe
