Hello,
What do you think of Jesse for a boy? What will work as a middle name. And he will have a big brother Called Ben, do you think Ben & Jesse work well together?
Thank you!!!

Such a great strong name

I love the name Jesse and think of handsome chaps like Jesse Metcalf ! Really great name

Grufallosfriends · 24/02/2020 07:04

We have a female Jess in the family so to me it sounds girly.

StealthMama · 24/02/2020 06:57

Our baby would have been Jesse If she'd been a boy. I wouldn't mind it being shortened to Jess for a boy either. Nice choice.

It’s a great name!

Jesse William
Jesse Daniel
Jesse Isaac
Jesse Matthew
Jesse Aaron
Jesse Thomas

My 14 yr old would have been a Jesse. Of course it goes with Ben - both OT names.

Marilynmansonsothereye · 23/02/2020 23:19

I love it and I'm in the deep north and jessie as an insult isnt really a thing now.
But, I agree with a pp. Jesse and Ben are very different names in terms of story and style.

@Treaclepie19 I’m sorry for your loss xx

Adore the name Jesse! And at 75 in the charts it’s definitely not too popular. Goes lovely with Ben too. Please use itGrin

NannyR · 23/02/2020 20:10

I like Ben and Jesse, they go together well, both old testament names.

ohnooutofdateham · 23/02/2020 20:01

Love it! And I agree with you - nobody has said ‘You big Jesse’ since like 1983 surely I’ve loterally never heard it used in all my life except in vintage tv shows

There was a boy in my year at school called Jesse. He was bullied mercilessly about it. So much so that he tried to convince people that his name was actually Jerry. It was awful Sad
This was from around 2000-2004 ish.

Maybe it doesn't happen now, maybe he would have been bullied about something else anyway. It always stuck in my mind though.

pipilangstrumpfi · 23/02/2020 19:43

It sounds like a nickname for Jessica. Jess or Jessie.

Treaclepie19 · 23/02/2020 19:25

Thank you @Lorddenning1

I love it. We lost a baby in Dec 2018 and he was called Jesse ❤

yatapina · 23/02/2020 16:50

To be fair, the only people I know who use it are my arsehole in-laws which may well be why I don't think I could use it!

strawberrylipgloss · 23/02/2020 16:49

Ben and Jesse is too close to Ben and Jerry for my liking. Lol

mytypeonpaper · 23/02/2020 16:49

I've never liked Jesse for a boy

Poorolddaddypig · 23/02/2020 16:44

I think Jesse and Ben sound perfect together
Great choices

Thegirlhasnoname · 23/02/2020 09:22

I know a Jesse George and love the name

GetTheSprinkles · 23/02/2020 09:16

Really like it for a boy! Potential middle names : Adam, Luke, Paul, Noah

Minxy78 · 23/02/2020 08:58

Yes! I have a 7 year old Jesse, he totally rocks it. Occasionally gets spelled with an 'ie', but never had any negative reactions to it.

Hypergear · 23/02/2020 08:55

Agree with PP, like Jesse but it clashes with Ben
