Name change

Has anybody or would anybody change their babies name at 3 months old? I'm really regretting my daughter's name, I have mentioned it to my partner a couple of time, he's not impressed that I want to change it but will if it's really bothering me. Am I being ridiculous? I do feel I will be happier if we change it or should o just suck it up and regret it in silence?

Changing a babies name before 1yo is actually really easy.

I also prefer Charlotte to Naomi but if you change it you should be aware that you might then start thinking of problems with Charlotte and wish you’d stuck to the original name. Name regret can me a sign of PND or OCD as well. Just wanted to make you aware.

Try and keep calm though. Like I say, to change a name before 1yo is really easy

Thankyou that does make me feel a bit better, my partner also said I'm over thinking it. My partner would be happier keeping Naomi but doesn't dislike Charlotte x

What does your partner feel about Charlotte? @Ironman140

Naomi is a lovely name and don't think anyone will bully her because how it is spelled backwards. In the nicest way possible I think you maybe over thinking it. She will probably be in a class with many children with far more unusual names tbh.

Ok so my daughter is called Naomi, basically I wish I had gave her an English name, I don't like that it spells 'I moan' backwards and worry that she will be bullied/picked on in school. I also don't like that she may be called Nay or Omi for short, I didn't really do my research. I can't help but feel that she suits the name Charlotte x

I think name regret is actually quite common as it's a big decision. However, most of the time the regret is temporary while you get used to it.

It maybe best to set a deadline of a month or two and see how you feel about changing it then as you may grow to love it in that time.

What is the reason you want to change it? Too common/too unusual/not choosing the name you really wanted in the first place?

Could you tell us the name and explain what you don’t like about it?
Is there another name you have chosen as a replacement and what does your partner think of that name
