What’s your opinion of each? Like classic names, any suggestions of similar ?

Ophelia definitely in my view

Lavenderblues · 16/02/2020 18:55

I like Penelope.

Don't like Margot unless it's pronounced the French way, Margo. In German and several other European languages it's pronounced Mar-gott.

Not mad keen on Margot - bit too 70’s for me.

Like Penelope.

Love Ophelia although she was tragic.

MarshaBradyo · 16/02/2020 18:53

Re pp - Not Penny as in don’t use that nn.

TatianaLarina · 16/02/2020 18:52

Ophelia. Margot is everywhere and a bit bland.

Don’t like Penelope at all and Penny is such a dowdy nn.

RickOShay · 16/02/2020 18:45

Love Margot

I love Margot... that would be my choice if I were ever to have another.

64sNewName · 16/02/2020 18:40

Margot is lovely and elegant; I saw a baby called Margot in a magazine photo recently and it struck me as a gorgeous name, though perhaps because she was tiny, adorable and styled by Harper’s Grin

I don’t think it reads similarly to “maggot” because the sounds are so different. Perhaps it would if you didn’t know how to pronounce it, though.

MarshaBradyo · 16/02/2020 18:38

Penelope as I dislike the other two, but not Penny

Muuuuuuuum · 16/02/2020 18:36

I love Margot. Not fussed about the others, but it's not my child being named 😁

99bb · 16/02/2020 18:35

Penelope. Gorgeous.

Bluemeadows · 16/02/2020 18:27

Not my taste at all but at a push Penelope
Ophelia reminds me of haemophilia and has tragic connotations
Margot is a dowdy name that looks like Maggot
Penelope at a push but dislike penny.

milkjetmum · 16/02/2020 18:22

I have one of these, called penny day to day. Like Margot, less keen on Ophelia. How about Josephine, Margaret, Alexandra?

ShakespearesSisters · 16/02/2020 18:22

I like them all, but as I have an Ophelia I'm a little biased towards that one.

GAW19 · 16/02/2020 18:22

Ohh I've never heard Ophelia before but I really like it Grin
