Baby 2 is due end of march. We have a boys name (George) we love but can't decide on a girls name. We already have Ada and middle name will definitely be Elizabeth.
I live Iris but husband doesn't like it. Vice versa with Ariadne.
We like these but not as much as we love Ada, so any suggestions? (Bonus points if it can be used in Greek/ has a Greek version)
Thea
Martha
Ruby
Georgia
Florence

Eleni was on the cards ages ago before even my first was conceived. I've gone off it now. Quite like Ines. I think Orla and Iona are now on the short list too

Hestia
Hera
Hebe

eggofmantumbi · 17/02/2020 11:21

I also think it's just a bit cringe because everyone who knows us knows he loves HP so it would seem like that was why we chose it, not because we just like it.

I quite like Harriet as well.
Not sure there is a name out there we BOTH love!

I know a 7 year old Hermione. I don't like the name much, it sounds clunky to me.

Whatsyourflava · 17/02/2020 10:59

Ada and Gorge are lovely names. I really love Florence from your choices

Whatsyourflava · 17/02/2020 10:57

Sorry but I think Hermione is a bit ridiculous and cringe given DH is a Potter fan

Love you other names though

Kwkwjwkek · 17/02/2020 10:46

There’s that actress in cold feet whose real name is Hermione

Namechange8471 · 17/02/2020 07:30

My dd has a friend called Hermione, really suits her!
I don’t think then name would be strongly associated with Harry Potter, remember the last film was released nine years ago now! I think it’s game of thrones names that are a thing now?

eggofmantumbi · 17/02/2020 06:39

It's interesting that Hermione has come up a few times. We were saying last night that it's such a lovely name, but we'd worry the association was too Harry potter (especially as husband is a bit of a HP geek)
Has anyone ever met a real life Hermione in the UK?
