Just that :-)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Timeless, gorgeous and underused currently. Also love Rebekah.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 14/02/2020 18:48

Rebecca is the best spelling.

OhLook · 14/02/2020 18:47

I do ;)

bridgetreilly · 14/02/2020 18:47

Well it's at least 4000 years old. So I vote timeless.

4amWitchingHour · 14/02/2020 18:46

'Becky with the good hair' will date a hell of a lot faster than 'Rebecca'! Daphne du Maurier anyone?

It's timeless, I know a 2yr old Becky, no one thinks her name is dated

74NewStreet · 14/02/2020 18:38

No offence, Hmm, but I really dislike that spelling.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 14/02/2020 18:38

Timeless

OhLook · 14/02/2020 18:37

Very very dated.

Hmm12121 · 14/02/2020 18:36

I’m Rebekah. I prefer my spelling and prefer my full name but I do get called Becky or Bex by some people.

CruCru · 14/02/2020 18:26

I love Rebecca but where I live it would get shortened to Becky / Becks / Bex - all of which I hate.

Whatsyourflava · 14/02/2020 17:41

Yes interesting point @1066vegan I hadnt really factored that in

1066vegan · 14/02/2020 17:39

I don't think that a classic name which was particularly popular for a couple of decades but has become less common can be called dated.

I agree with the pp that dated is a better descriptor of non-classic names like Tracy that are associated with a particular time. I'd add Beryl, Sandra, Linda, Sharon and Kylie to the pp's list. Plus Darren and Kevin for boys.

kenandbarbie · 14/02/2020 17:16

I know a few of all ages

kenandbarbie · 14/02/2020 17:15

Timeless

CurrynChips · 14/02/2020 17:13

Timeless

Quizeerascal · 14/02/2020 17:02

Timeless. As others have said that were a lot born in the 80s/90s but its had a bit of a break so a Rebecca born today would probably be the only one her class. Even if there are others around theres a lot of nickname options which can be useful

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 14/02/2020 17:00

I think timeless. Dated would be something like Tracey or Cheryl - nice enough names but can be placed in a very specific period in time. Rebecca is biblical I think, and while it was very popular in the 80s and 90s that doesn't mean that most Rebeccas were from that era, unlike the other names. There are much older and much younger Rebeccas.

MissingMySleep · 14/02/2020 16:53

lovely name

ChimpyChops · 14/02/2020 16:52

Timeless.

My favourite 💖

Whatsyourflava · 14/02/2020 16:50

@AlexaShutUp it doesn’t fall into the same category if you look at the statistics though. Sophie and Emily still well within the top 10 names, hannah in the top 60. Whereas Rebecca is about to leave the top 200 names. It’s totally nose dived. So that does make it the epitome of “dated” in the same way Kate and Sarah is, but I don’t think everyone will see dated as a bad thing anyway, it’s just personal taste

AgathaVanHelsing · 14/02/2020 16:50

Dated and ugly

BowStreetStunner · 14/02/2020 16:47

Timeless...speaking as a Rebecca!

Cbeebiesrehab · 14/02/2020 16:44

Dated

BaronessBomburst · 14/02/2020 15:00

I think it's timeless, and don't associate it with the 90s. Confused
I only know one Rebecca and she is never shortened to anything else.
Go for it!

AlexaShutUp · 14/02/2020 14:49

There are more timeless classics such as:
Sophie/Hannah/Emily

Love all of these names, but Rebecca falls into the same category for me.
