Odd debate about spelling...you can, and people do, spell it both ways for girls. I plan to spell it with an I if I have a baby girl. It's personal preference and nothing to do with the OP!

I agree a longer middle name sounds great. Robyn Elizabeth is beautiful.

Robyn Elise?
Robyn Alana?

I like the ‘y’ spelling; it definitely differentiates between the boy/girl versions.

3girlsmama · 08/02/2020 23:26

Robyn Elinor
Robyn Mara
Robyn Kate

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 08/02/2020 23:14

In the states Robin for a girl is spelled like this and it's not common at all for a boy (except Robin Williams), but I love the Robyn spelling! That is so refreshing. I'm in love with:

Robyn Ottilie
Robyn Olivia
Robyn Augustina
Robyn Vivian or Viviana
Robyn Aurora
Robyn Juliana
Robyn Alessia
Robyn Georgia
Robyn Elara
Robyn Everly
Robyn Arabella

An amazing song, Nantucket Sleighride- by a band called Mountain has a girl in it called Robyn Marie. So that sounds right to me!

smashstore · 08/02/2020 11:02

I dunno but i wouldnt spell it with a Y. It looks weird

That how you spell it Confused

Robyn Elizabeth would be my choice. Classic and many nicknames to pull from those!

Spanneroo · 08/02/2020 10:51

My Robyn has a family name for a middle name - Jacqueline

Oh, and we've had it misspelled once as 'Robin' when she was a newborn and the lady assumed she was a baby boy.

Kuponut · 08/02/2020 10:47

I have a Robyn Isabelle - nickname Bobbi.

Kim1010 · 08/02/2020 10:46

Thank you Smile some nice names there, I will show her,
the reason she has chosen Robyn ( girly version wanted) was while sitting waiting outside he ds school thinking about names a Robin landed on the wall next to her it sat facing her some seconds.
And the day before she had received some sad news in a card,
on the front of the card was a little Robin, she felt very moved by both these Robins.

  • those stats are from 2018. Stats for 2019 haven’t been released yet
Whatsyourflava · 08/02/2020 10:27

@Greyleggings the most recent year which we have official statistics for, 750 girls were called “Robyn” and just 120 girls spelt “Robin”. If it were me I’d def pick the most popular female spelling as that’s what everyone (in years to come when all these Robyns grow up) will assume the spelling is when spelling the name out. A female Robyn is over 6 times more likely to be called Robyn rather than Robin

I myself also definitely see Robin as the male spelling x

Thefaceofboe · 08/02/2020 09:47

I dunno but i wouldnt spell it with a Y. It looks weird

That’s the normal spelling a girl.

Ricekrispie22 · 08/02/2020 09:28

Robyn Violet
Robyn Cecelia
Robyn Olivia
Robyn Matilda
Robyn Athena

Greyleggings · 08/02/2020 09:23

Robin is definitely unisex, there are plenty of female Robins about. Swapping out the I for a Y is bizarre to me. Like Chrys or Borys. I think it reads weirdly! It looks spelt wrong

Mish85 · 08/02/2020 09:18

How about Esther, Nova, Orion, Lyra or Aster? Robyn means 'shining, bright', and the names mentioned mean star - their little shining star ⭐

MyCatScaresDogs · 08/02/2020 09:15

I think Robyn flows well with a longer name that starts with a vowel, personally.

Robyn Elizabeth
Robyn Alexandra
Robyn Ophelia

Singingatmidnight · 08/02/2020 09:09

Robyn Amanda
Robyn Sophia
Robyn Amelia
Robyn Eliana

Whatsyourflava · 08/02/2020 09:06

Robin is boy name
Robyn is girl

Robyn Emily
Robyn Edith
Robyn Margaret
Robyn Clementine
Robyn Roxanna or Roxanne (if you like double R)
Robyn pearl
Robyn Ottilie
Robyn Aurora/Aurelia/Aria

itsgettingweird · 08/02/2020 08:17

Robyn Louise
Robyn Rose
Robyn May
Robyn Eve
Robyn Marie
Robyn Elizabeth

I like the name Robyn and it's usually a y for a girl in the uk. The few I know are all spelt this way.
