Ok - please let me have it :D I think we have finally agreed our girls name!

I want to call her the full name, and will persevere with this when introducing her, then at nursery, school etc. Fully aware she'll get nicknames though, and I KNOW Evie is absolutely everywhere. (Tbh I rather like it, but so so common.) I like Van, Eve, Lina and Jelly Grin

I would like middle name to be Kitty, but other suggestions welcome please!!

Thanks so much everyone

I love Evangeline but I hate Vange as a nn (reminds me too much of vag) so I think as long as you have lots of other nn options, which clearly you do, then it’s lovely as is Kitty!

Aderyn19 · 07/02/2020 21:06

I love it. I think it's beautiful - different but not too 'out there'. It's very marmite though, so be prepared for criticism. That said, it doesn't matter that some people won't like it, so long as you are happy with the name, no one else's opinion really matters.

Love Evangeline. I wanted Evangelina for DD but DH vetoed.

Van is a very cool nickname!

Not mad on Kitty.

Sometimes I do think, why the fuck come on and give such a detailed breakdown.of how much you hate a name? Of course we're all allowed opinions! Of course you can share them, and if I'm going to call my daughter Evangeline then I should be prepared for criticism etc. but your reply is just so...well, FULL

Sorry I really don’t like Evangeline
Such a mouthful and just so frilly

Like 10 names in 1 long name including the boys name Evan at the start.

The Line part at the end makes it sound like a make of dental braces or something - like Invisalign or whatever

Kitty is ok, a bit downmarket so not a name I’d pick

I’m sorry not to be more positive but it seems like other people like it so who cares about my reply anyway xx

I know an Evangeline she is Eva for short.

Istillgetjealous · 07/02/2020 18:39

Kitty is quite nice but I don’t know if it’s substantial enough to be a standalone name- even as a MN

Istillgetjealous · 07/02/2020 18:38

I absolutely adore Evangeline

diddlediddle · 07/02/2020 18:37

Kitty is great! Go for it!

EL0ISE · 07/02/2020 18:37

I agree. Evangeline is great but defo not Kitty. You need a one or two syllable classic name without E and AH sounds. And preferably without J sounds like Jane.

Lucy as a PP said is good. Maybe it’s the repeated L.

What about Rose, Ruth, May / Mae?

Grace might be ok because it’s different from the G sound in evangeline.

DramaAlpaca · 07/02/2020 18:21

Evangeline is gorgeous.

I'm not mad on Kitty, tbh. How about Evangeline Lucy?

RuthW · 07/02/2020 18:19

It's lovely. Hate Evie but love all the other nick names.
