DH really likes Anne but I’m not entirely convinced.
I don’t like Annie or Anna for sure but Anne is one I’m on the fence about.
Any thoughts?

I think it's too blunt somehow, like i find it quite hard to finish the word with 'n' sound . Prefer Anna or Annie, love Anya.

ChocoChunk1 · 02/02/2020 20:35

Anais? Aurelia? Antonia?

Unescorted · 02/02/2020 20:32

Awesome name … with or without the e.

LightDrizzle · 02/02/2020 20:31

Love Anna, dislike Anne/ Ann

Blackcatpaws · 02/02/2020 20:30

think it's due a comeback same way Ruth is. I don't mind it
Noooooooo it's not and Ruth is just as awful. It's my middle name a truly terrible.
Both bland and dull and frumpy

AnneLovesGilbert · 02/02/2020 20:29

It’s lovely Grin

midsomermurderess · 02/02/2020 20:28

I like it. I am so bored of all the frilly names so beloved of many on this site, frilly and desperately aspirational, like the preposterous Ottilie.

user1493494961 · 02/02/2020 20:23

Agree with pp, very dull and plain, use as a middle name.

TrippingOnSunshine · 02/02/2020 20:09

Don't mind Anne it is a bit plain though.
Anna or Annabel are lovely. Or Anita??

MrsGolightyly · 02/02/2020 20:03

I love Anna but not Anne or Annie.

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 02/02/2020 20:00

A bit dull! What about Marianne?

formerbabe · 02/02/2020 19:59

It's so dull

I love Annie

Or Anna, Anya, Annabelle, Anais

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 02/02/2020 19:58

I love it. Anne of Austria is who I immediately think of. Always with an E for
me.

Javagrey · 02/02/2020 19:55

Nice name. The queen liked it.

JKScot4 · 02/02/2020 19:52

Oh please no, definitely not due a comeback, Anna, Annabel are much nicer.

PrincessLouis · 02/02/2020 19:51

I like it, lots of great historical / literary Annes eg Queen Anne, Boleyn, of Cleves, of Green Gables, Hathaway... Could also consider Annabel though a bit yuppie and not a classic like Anne

Gogolego · 02/02/2020 18:49

I think it's due a comeback same way Ruth is. I don't mind it

MikeUniformMike · 02/02/2020 18:44

I really like Ann, without the e as a first name. I also like Annie and Anna.
How about Antonia as a name?

daisypond · 02/02/2020 18:44

It’s nice, but I do prefer Anna.

BigGreenBaskets · 02/02/2020 18:41

Personally I think it's awful, especially on a little baby! Really dull.
