I know a 60 year old but also an 18 year old Bruce, I am in Scotland though.

I know loads of Bruces of all ages and they are all lovely. But I live in Scotland and it is a fairly common name here.

I think if you are Scottish in Scotland it's a great name but I have a family member with that name and people have always found it amusing....

My DDad was one. Its not something I would pick. I don't think its awful. Just a bit oddball for a baby.

He was given that name because they used to pick mothers surnames (as in maiden names) as first names for boys. His family were originally Scottish. His great gran was Mary Bruce.

I think he told my mother this once as she called her son (from her second husband) Phillips. with an S.

How weird. We were talking at lunch today about what names we looked like and my dsis was teasing her bf about looking like a Bruce. He was then told it was because he looked like the guy in Evil Dead!
